On the rebound from a poor experience last week at The Star Inn in York, we are very pleased to report that The Ivy got it right on the 13th from the moment we walked in. A warm welcome, an offer to take our coats and the table was waiting! No hassle. We started with hay-smoked mackerel, followed by vension (and superb vegetables) and ended with a duo of apple desserts, coffee and petit fours. The complimentary bread, olives and amuse bouche were impressive. Drinks to start and glasses of wine with each course, everything arrived on time as one would expect. This meal was a most rewarding and relaxed experience.
