We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and recommended it numerous times and on our last stay we made it super special.
We booked a suite, booked couples spa treatments and booked a table in the restaurant so basically the hotel had all of us for our visit to York.
As ever the hotel is beautiful and the room was large and luxurious.
But what makes me really angry at the hotel is what happened on our return.
We spent on one night just under £1000 as it was our anniversary (this is a ridiculous amount of money to us and you'd think the hotel would love custome like this.) When we returned home we realised we'd left our phone charger and contacted the hotel who said they would kindly post it to us, which they did. What really annoyed me is that they went to the effort of raising an invoice and charging our credit card about £3 for the postage.....
We'd just spent £1000 in the place and they couldn't just give us £3??? Words fail me.
For this reason we will not return here as they do not appreciate repeat business.
They are greedy and have forgotten the finer points of customer service.
I hope the £3 was worth losing customers who have stayed with you year in year out.
