“Great location and price”
Reviewed 11 May 2014 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights with 2 kids during the Easter holiday. The hotel was very busy and breakfast was a bit of a bun fight! The kids ate free so can't complain! The location is great and it's a shirt walk into the city centre. Parking can be a problem as the hotel car park is small but there is an NCP park a short walk away.

Overall a great stay helped by a very reasonable price.

We stayed at this Premier Inn over the bank holiday and it was wonderful. The staff was very helpful especially on reception. It is a great location, only a ten minute walk into the centre, and 5 minutes from the train station. Great breakfast! Would come back again!

This was our return to York so this time went for the opposite end of the spectrum from a spa hotel to good old Premier Inn where you lay your head down.
First time booking this Premier Inn, and once again faultless online booking. Leading up to arrival I received a phone call, email and text confirming all arrangements. During the phone call I was asked for any special requirements and said that all should be fine, but my wife is a coeliac and was instantly told that they can accommodate requests and gluten free toast was added to the booking for breakfast!
The hotel is just 5 mins walk from York train station. Exit station, turn right, follow the bridge round to the lights, turn right again and its less than 100yards up Blossom Street.
We were greeting by a wonderful receptionist - Mennat who was exceptionally friendly and helpful with our slick check in.
Once again fully secure hotel swiping in through most doors. We were allocated room 129 which seemed to be a family room and was large. Sited at the rear of the hotel and very quiet indeed, and no noise from adjoining rooms due to thick walls.
As ever very clean and airy - 99% of people couldn't be happier here for cleanliness and facility.
All members of staff - and I mean all members, acknowledged you either entering or leaving the building and were only too happy to help you if needed.
Breakfast dining was all you come to expect and everything was top notch, and always replenished. Anything extra you wanted for breakfast was never any trouble and very quick to arrive.
I tried the Wi-Fi for the first ever time on holiday and that was super quick. 30 mins free if you do a quick registration on your tablet/laptop/phone and away you go - and again reset every day.
Distance to the city is less than a 10 min walk. Just turn left out of the hotel, and head straight for the arch. Either take a walk around the wall or carry straight on into town where all attractions and museums are within minutes in any direction.
Must also add on this visit, as train station is so close took a 30 min journey to Harrogate if that's your thing, and the number 7 bus from opposite the station will take you to an outlet mall for shopping.
York is without doubt a stunning city and this hotel really is prime location for your visit. For us booking a couple months previous it was £232 for 4 nights including breakfast each day for both of us - that's £29 each per day, and really worth every single penny.
Will definitely return to York again and will absolutely book here again - top hotel!!

Very good for the money, nice rooms, comfy bed ect. Only down side is this hotel stated having a car park which it doesn't...you have to use blossom st north car park and it's pay and display which is poor for premier inn.

The staff are courteous and our room was well maintained and clean.

First time staying in York with the family. We chose this hotel to be in walking distance of the centre. We had a lovely room; one of the most spacious family rooms we've had in a Premier Inn. The receptionist who checked us in was really helpful, providing us with a map and marking routes into town and attractions we may want to visit. Breakfast was great. We didn't have a problem with queuing but we were down for breakfast by 8 each day. We would recommend this hotel.
