Great location, Clean & quite considering it's city location, the Premier Inn car park is only £8.50 for 24hrs & every attraction is only a 15min walk from the hotel, if you use the city walls to get around it's surprisingly quick & a great view of the city too.

Premier inns are excellent value for money. We paid just £58 for two nights in half term which we thought was excellent value.
We were in room 102 on the first floor and we couldn't fault it. This hotel had recently received brand new beds and it was honestly like sleeping on a cloud! I'm a hopeless insomniac (writing this review at 5.10am) but there I slept until 6.30am both nights, for the first time in many, many years.
The hotel is right next to a cinema one side and York city gates the other, it was a very short walk into the city, we were at The Shambles in 15 minutes. Even though it is on a busy road we didn't hear the traffic once.
Breakfast is served from 6.30am til 10.30am but if you go between 9 and 9.30 expect a short wait to be seated, we waited for about 15 minutes on the first morning and 10 on the second which was fine. The breakfast was delicious and excellent value for money. We are vegetarian and they cooked us Quorn sausages which were fabulous.
Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Charlotte, who was on reception in Blossom Street North was amazing, what a lovely and helpful young lady.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, we have already booked to return in August.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the back away from the main road.

Wonderfully central, bags of character and the same superb standard of cleanliness and comfort. On a summer evening there are good pints to be sipped in the quiet yard listening to late birdsong very close by.
Handy for railways station. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff on reception.

Fab location just by station, lovely reception nothing was too much trouble, even can leave luggage there if you have a later train than check out. Restaurant isn't big enough for both hotels but didn't bother us as not in a rush , staff in longboat very nice too

Nights spent at hotel: 2

Having just stayed at this premier inn I can say it is as all premier inns; relatively inexpensive, simple, comfortable clean and provides an excellent base for visiting the sites in york.

Shower was a little weak, bed slightly hard but I am really nit picking. Great position. Easy access to and from the centre.

The only problem is the lack of parking. A little irritating. I would stay again however.
