Easy walk if you are coming in by rail. York is not that big so it's easy to walk everywhere in the city from here. Room was very comfortable and a good size. Staff was warm and helpful.

book a room at thishotel and you get basic but adequate facilities , I'd give it 3 stars as 2 star would be harsh, but it's definitely no where near 4 star. The receptions really poor in reguards of it's a small lectern and it's a shame because the girls who I met were all lovely and polite when dealing with me.One or two downsides, I couldn't put meals, drinks etc on my room number and pay at the end of my stay, why I don't know, and breakfast can be a nightmare when it gets busy as chef only cooks about 10 rashers of bacon, sausage, eggs etc at a time, surely he do better than that.My room was ok but I hate these soap dispensers which appear to be taking over, the good old little blocks of soap which used to be were so much better. overall paying £80 for one night plus extra foe a food fight next morning was steep and the next time I visit York I've a feeling for the money I can do better

Just spent 2 nights at blossom st south and was very impressed, not having stayed at a premier inn before i did not know what to expect. This is only next door but one to the Blossom St north but much better as it only opened this year and everything is new where as the north one could be updated. The room was spacious and had t.v. hairdryer and tea tray. The bathroom had white towels, shower and soap dispensers and all were spotless. There was a lovely bar and restaurant which we ate in. The buffet breakfast was self service and was excellent, had everything you could want. We ate here both evenings and can recommend the food, it was well cooked, well presented and good value. All the staff were polite and friendly . It is in a good position only 5mins from train station and 10 mins walk into centre of York. Would not hesitate to go back , had a great stay, many thanks.

I took my girlfriend on a weekend away and she was very pleased that I chose to stay in this hotel. It was very shiny and new looking and the express check in machines were really mental. They make your keys and stuff!!
The towels weren't as nice as the last hotel I stayed in so I didn't steal any this time ;)
The service was really good I thought, except when I tried to pay in cash and they demanded ID. Probably coz I'm a bit scruffy looking I think.:) The receptionists were friendly but someone was shouting agressively at one of them and there was no managers around to help them which I thought was well out of order.
Also when we went down for breakfast a middle aged man who worked in the restaurant greeted us but smelled strongly of smoke so he shouldn't really be working around food, its really disgusting.
There was no parking so its probably best to come by train.

We found the staff to be very welcoming and accommodating when we needed an extra late check out due to a sick child. Breakfast buffet had masses of choice but it is served in a pretty confined space which is not very relaxing overall. The queues can be long. The rooms and corridors were very clean. There is insufficient parking and this is a bit stressful but we were warned when we booked.

There are actually two hotels almost next to each other. Both look ok. We had a family room and the four beds were set up for our arrival. The room was very clean and the service was excellent. We had a room on the road side of the hotel but the windows were good enough to keep most the noise out. Breakfast was good and is good value if you have kids as they eat free. All in all good value for money.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on the way up to Edinburgh from London. We got to the hotel around 3 pm so had no difficulty parking in the small free car park round the back. Check-in was not great as we came in from the car park and queued at the reception for 10 minutes only to be told that this was the öther" Premier Inn on Blossom St. Luckily our hotel was just 20 yards further down the road. However instead of a reception desk the Blossom St South has self-service kiosks which were a real pain - they're not really self service as you still need to have the receptionist standing next to you telling you what to do and we waited over 10 minutes for the receptionist whilst she dealt with telephone reservations.

Once we did get checked-in we found the two rooms we'd booked to be good - clean, very quiet and very new. Breakfast was good - not a huge selection but reasonable quality and the breakfast staff were very helpful.

The location of the hotel is great - just a couple of minutes from the start of the old town and plenty of good eating places within a 10 minute stroll.
