“You have to stay here”

What a surprise. This guest house is amazing, the rooms are immaculate, we had a family room sleeping 5 and we loved it. Kids had a great time. The welcome was wonderful and very friendly, the room blew us away, light, airy, ultra clean and had all the facilities you would expect plus more ( a fridge on the landing to chill drinks) !! The breakfast was so fresh and tasty even my kids finished their plates!! I'm so pleased we found this place and will definitely want to return. The owners are the loveliest people you can find. A real must, well located and honestly the best hotel I've stayed in. In my experience it matches the many Hiltons that I have stayed in.

Wow thank you for your fab review. Our family room is a good size, sleeps upto 5 and is light and airy. We have refurbishment plans for it over the next few weeks, so the experience should be even better!

Many Thanks Louise

Just stayed here on the second night on the Way of the Roses . Louise and Mark are great hosts and have thought of everything! All our wet clothes were taken care of . We were greeted with tea and home made cakes. The rooms were clean and comfy. The breakfast was good and set us up for the day. Would definitely recommend this to others.

Room Tip: Try The Walnut Tree for an evening meal - short walk away

We stayed here as a group of 9 on our second night of the way of the roses cycle. We arrived very wet following a heavy downpour and all our wet clothes were taken from us which saved us having to put them to dry in our rooms, bikes were taken care of straight away and locked away. Lovely rooms, great choice of breakfast - the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon bagels were cooked perfectly ! We ate at the Walnut tree which served good wholesome food at reasonable prices, I had the steak and ale pie which was delicious! Would definitely stay here again either for a trip to York or when we return for the way of the roses. Thanks again Louise and Mark.

Louise & Mark did everything to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Our bedroom was spotless with a lovely en-suite. We were greeted with a cup of tea and homemade cake on our arrival. The guest house is in a good location for York and the surrounding area & you can walk into York (around 25 mins) or catch the bus.Louise and Mark are happy to pass on their knowledge of the area & to recommend places to eat. Cold water and fresh milk were provided in a fridge & this was much appreciated. The breakfasts were delicious and we would definitely recommend the Blakeney.

A group of us stayed here as part of an organised bike trip. Louise and Mark did everything they could to help: warm and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast (fresh fruit salad was very welcome),guided us to pubs for evening meals, sorted out soaking cycling clothes and were generally pleasant. Thank you for everything - I hope to return.

My room was exceptionally clean and well-equipped. A nice touch was the availability of fresh milk which was kept in a refrigerator on the landing (this was in addition to the usual cartons of milk on the tea-tray in the room).
The slot for breakfast was quite limited at 8.30 - 9.0am. The owner warned me of this when I arrived but an earlier breakfast could be arranged if requested.
Unfortunately, it is a good 30 minute walk into town although a 'bus service is available.

Thank you for your complimentry review.

With regard to breakfast our normal breakfast service has always been from 8.30am until 9.15 during the week and 8.30am until 9.30pm on weekends, so not as limited as you suggest. We find this works well for our guest, but we can do earlier breakfast from 7.30am on request, or a buffet tray is provided in the fridge if requested before that time.

We are always happy to take on board Guests constructive comments and since your stay we now do breakfast during the week from 8.15am until 9.15am.

Many Thanks
Louise

We have just had a fabulous 2 night stay at The Blakeney. We are a family of five and were more than comfortable in the family room.
We were welcomed with fresh coffee and home made cake, Mark and Louise could'nt do enough.

And the most important part of going away...The breakfast.. Lovely, everything you could want, all fresh and good quality products.
If you go to York, and don't stay at The Blakeney your missing out!!.
