Quite a good Hotel, but not the best we have stayed in while visiting York.
Parking is a bit hit & miss (first come, first served) as the car parking is very limited.
Rooms are ok, although ours was bit small. The (comfy) bed dominated the room; you could just walk round the edge of it. No good if you wanted to have a dance to music!!
Its an old fashion style hotel so could do with a (costly) renovation to be honest.
Staff are friendly, but we found service at breakfast terrible. It wasnt particularly busy, but took them ages to take our order. We then had to badger the staff for our hot drinks, then search for milk & sugar off other tables!. Food took ages to come, we actually thought they had forgotten our order.
Saying that, the breakfast was actually good!
As it was our first time staying at the Grange, we can't judge if this is normal service or just an 'off day'.
I guess we would stay there again, but would only be fourth or fifth choice hotel.More
