You can't go wrong with the Best Western Dean Court Hotel. It's in a superb location in York. Across the street from the church and right in the heart of the old city. Everything is within walking distance. Went for a quick overnight trip for a friend's birthday. Hotel staff was really welcoming and accommodating. Rooms were very lovely and comfortable. Will be recommending the hotel to anyone I know who will be visiting York.
Myself and my Husband stayed at The Best Western Plus Dean and had a wonderful stay. So much so we are planning to return very soon and this would be our first choice of hotel. We came away to York on a Mini-moon as we got married on the 29th March and the hotel just added to the wonderful experience of the weekend. From the minute we entered the hotel right up until the moment we left every staff member was pleasant and extremely helpful. The room itself was beautifully clean and modern and we were very satisfied with the welcome tray and added touches. The valet parking was an added luxury and I believe the price was very reasonable for this service considering we were staying in the centre of York! The breakfast was also delicious and the service was impeccable, we felt cared for and very welcomed by the staff. I particularly enjoyed the weather forecast for the day on a small card on the table- a nice finishing touch! As a travel agent myself working for a Business Travel Agent, I often book this hotel for business clients, however had not yet had the pleasure of staying myself. Although this visit was for my own pleasure, I feel I will now be able to recommend this Hotel to business clients looking for comfortable accommodation in the centre of York. Thank you for a lovely stay!
I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend 28-30th march as a treat for his 40th birthday.
The service was 10/10, very welcoming and friendly.
The room was a small double and was exactly that, but perfectly adequate size and had all that we needed. The room was very clean and well decorated.
The court bar area was lovely and had dinner in the main restaurant. Food was lovely and service brilliant in both.
Location is probably best in city.
Definitely would stay again and highly recommend to others.
Stayed as a family of 9. 6 adults and 3 boys. Hotel staff fantastic location great, rooms and general areas clean and well presented. Meals and drinks very expensive though meals well presented and tasted fantastic.Coudnt afford to do this often but a as a treat it was a great weekend.
We decided to book the Dean Court Hotel for a one night stay in York for our wedding anniversary. The reviews on tripadvisor looked good and the price was within our budget. We arrived at about 12pm, 2 hours before check in time but the receptionist held our bags so that we could go for a walk around York until our room was ready. The hotel is right next to the minster in the centre of York and is surrounded by lots of restaurants and pubs so perfect for a short trip as you don't have to go far for everything you want in York.
We returned to the hotel later to check in and the process was quick and easy. The receptionist informed us that the lifts were out of order and asked if we were ok with the stairs which we were. I assume had we been unable to use the stairs we would have been offered a ground floor room but this wasn't necessary. A porter showed us to our room, stopping at the restaurant, bistro and bar on the way and explaining about the facilities available. Our bags were already in our room which was very nice. We chose a small room but it was ample in size with plenty of space to put clothes as well as plenty of room to walk around the room. The bathroom was small but plenty big enough. The whole room was lovely and clean and nicely decorated. We could see the minster from our window at the side of the hotel which was nice and we weren't expecting. There was also an anniversary card from the hotel in the room which was a nice touch.
After a day of sightseeing around York we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant which had also received good reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food was reasonably priced and excellent quality. The service was also very good.
We found our room to be quite warm but otherwise comfortable. The shower was very powerful and easy to control.
When we went downstairs for breakfast we were greeted by friendly staff who explained what was on offer and how to order. There was a cold buffet selection with several types of cereal and museli, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread and pastries as well as several kinds of fruit juice. The hot menu consisted of porridge, waffles etc. and a large choice of cooked breakfast items. We had some food from the buffet while we waited for our hot food to arrive. Everything was lovely and fresh and nice quality. The cooked food was the same. The sausage and bacon was very nice and stated on the menu it was locally farmed meat. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the scrambled egg as it was very creamy which wasn't to my taste and not a reflection on quality. My husband had poached eggs which looked very well cooked.
When it was time to check out the receptionist wished us happy anniversary and we left our bags with the hotel while we spent the day in York and collected them before leaving later in the day.
Overall a nice hotel and we would stay here again. The food was very nice and the hotel is near all the main attractions and shops in York.
