I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay at the Crossways. The owner, Emma, was welcoming, friendly an professional.
The whole place was spotless and the room I stayed in was of a standard beyond what I expected.
Some lovely little personal touches such as cotton wool balls and shower gel dispensers showed that alot of thought has gone into the comfort and needs of the guests.
I can highly recommend this guesthouse and have already booked for another stay shortly.

We recently stayed at Crossways for two nights. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back to Crossways. The guest house is in a really good location - took a ten minute walk to get to the Minster. The bed was REALLY comfy and the guesthouse was very quiet. Emma, the host, is the best host we've ever experienced - friendly, helpful, couldn't do enough to help. Breakfast was very tasty. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!

My wife and I stayed at Crossways 2 nights 22/23 March 2014. Emma the owner was a lovely lady she made us feel very welcome. and the guest house and room was very warm and clean and thankyou for the chockolate homemade cakes in our room on arrival. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were most helpful. We would stay again without any doubt.. Parking could be a little tricky but that is not the owners fault its the way other people park. Would suggest arriving about 10am to park without any problem.

Emma, the owner, was ready and waiting to give us a very warm welcome. We had been stuck in traffic so we were cold, tired and hungry. When we got to our room there were two home-made scones and butter waiting for us on our tea tray, which was a nice touch. We stayed in the Superior King room, which was very spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely warm and cosy. The bed was very comfy. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice of cereals, juices, yoghurts in addition to the full English or vegetarian.

The guest house is a nice Victorian terrace and is within walking distance of York Minster, The Shambles and National Railway Museum.

Emma was very knowledgeable about the area. She also recommended a few good restaurants. We chose a lovely intimate Italian restaurant in The Shambles. It was very busy and we struggled for a table but as soon as I mentioned Emma's name, they managed to squeeze us in - a window seat, which was perfect.

We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The Superior King Room, worth paying the extra for the space and larger bed. The room had two big wi...

We stayed in the Queen room for 3 nights. Found it very clean and spacious. Bed was a bit soft but that's an individual thing.

Breakfast was a good variety of cereals, yoghurt etc. Then options for cooked including vegetarian.

Location is perfect. About 15 mins walk to centre or a short bus ride. Bust stop is right outside.
