Just returned from a girlie weekend at the Park Inn,York, this was on a Groupon voucher. Stafff at Reception very nice and welcoming. We were given a riverside room which was unexpected this also had a balcony which you could sit out, the only downside was it was a bit noisy later at night but bearing in mind we went Friday and Saturday night so was very busy with hen and stag parties, but everyone was having a good time. Our 3 course evening meal was in with the deal which was excellent. The breakfast was also very good and a great assortment. We paid £149 for 2 for 2 nights excellent value and so very central. If this offer comes on again I will certainly come back. Also it is nicer than the Queens and breakfast area much better set out than the Queens which is a bottleneck, but still a nice hotel.

Room Tip: Even though the riverside rooms are a bit noiser at night, I would still go in this room as we saw r...

When we were looking for a weekend away in York I went with Park Inn as subsidery of the Radisson chain. I was impressed with the hotel but there were a few things that could be better!
We booked on line and when we went to check in the man behind reception needed a little bit of a personality injection, I know york suffers at weekends from drunks and parties but we're not all there for that! The breakfast was good, the hotel plesent but the rates are high for a weekend break! Looked at other cities and the rates are a lot cheaper at a weekend!

Room Tip: If you get chance book a business double and get a discount code from Google!!!

Stayed over on a busy Saturday night for a wedding. Following a few emails we were allowed to check in early which was useful. We had a decent room on the 7th floow overlooking the minster and the river and had comfy beds and a good quiet nights sleep.
Reasons for not giving 5 stars are that it cost us £120 for the room which was very steep for a budget chain but more to do with the location and time of year, the shower in the room had no power to it and the water just trickeled out and the breakfast although acceptable was not amazing and the hot food definately tasted more tesco value than M&S.

Centrally located within the beautiful City of York, the room was more than adequate with a great view over the River.
We stayed over the Horse Racing Weekend in May, there was little internal noise from the racegoers.
Staff were attentive an polite, breakfast was well worth the visit, all in all a great place and would use again.

I picked the hotel for it's location and was not disappointed by this. The building on arrival was not very impressive apparently it was at the forefront of architecture in the 60's I think it was when it was built. Not very awe inspiring now anyway from the outside. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and although we were early we were allowed to drop off our luggage in the room whilst they finished getting it ready for us. Although I had booked a twin room the bed was still a double but was assured that this would be rectified before long and right enough as we were gettin organised to go out the bed was split into two. The room was done out in corporate colours which made it very striking. Tea/coffee facilities were available as also there was a room safe. The beds were comfy the only thing lacking was space and somewhere to hang clothes or pack them away if you were wishing to do this. The bathroom was compact however it was very clean and modern with a big walk in shower.
The location was excellent being on the river walkway on the opposite side to town. However the two bridges depending on which area you were going to were only a couple of minutes walk away. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recomment it for it's location.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel overlook the road which can be noisy if you leave the window ope...

Stayed at the Park Inn by Radisson in York whilst attending a conference for 3 days in July. I was due to stay at the conference venue (The Royal York), but the hotel had been overbooked, so was moved to the Park Inn.

The hotel itself doesn't look like much frm the outside, however, inside was clean and modern.

My room (415) was clean and well presented. The was no wardrobe, however, the were hooks and hangers on the wall as you came into the room. Not a problem as I was travelling light, but as there was little storage space in the room, if I had nbeen staying for longer, or had been sharing the room, this may have been a frustration.

Hair and body shower gel and soap were provided in the bathroom, and the hotel directory indicated they had complimentary shave kits, toothbrushes and toothpaste available from reception.

The bed was comfortable, and I slept well.

Breakfast offered numerous options, including cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, cooked options, bread and pastries. However, the restaurant did get very busy on one of the days, with some guests being directed to sit in the brasserie behind as there were no table left in the breakfast room.

Only niggle for me was noise in the evening. My room faced the river, and on the other side were numerous bars, which did get a little noisy. With the windows closed, this wasn't a problem for me, but with the window open it was a bit much. That said, there is air con in the rooms which worked fine (I just like a bit of fresh air!).

I didn't use the gym during my stay, but a colleague did and he seemed happy with the equipment on offer.

Overall, would stay here again.
