Just returned from a 3 night stay at York Pavillion and a colder hotel I've never stopped in!
A lovely room with a 4 poster bed, although it could do with sprucing up a bit. But the cold was painful. Its not often I am indoors with a scarf and hat on. I had 4 other colleagues staying in other rooms and all said that the temperature was very cold.
The staff were very pleasant.
Breakfast buffet was sufficient choice but the hot breakfast choice was limited. The "full" english choice was...... a sausage, a piece of bacon, a hash brown, half a tomato, small tub of beans and half a slice of black pudding and an egg.
Meal prices are usual for hotels. We ate out in local pubs which are very good.
If I am returning to York, I wouldn't use this hotel again.
There was a roaring fire in the lounge.........a pity it didn't warm the rooms up.
