“A taste of Yorkshire”
Reviewed 5 September 2011

Visited Harrogate & York. Harrogate - lovely shops, very clean.

Travelled by train to visit York for the day - much better than driving. Traffic in York bad. Best to park on outskirts if you are in a car. Train journey 35 mins, frequent service. Lots to see and do in York. Lots of eating options, not too expensive. Didn't feel as though I was being ripped off. Took the open-topped bus tour of the sights of York - excellent (£7.50; £6 concession). Excellent value, staff extremely friendly and helpful.

“Fascinating!”
Reviewed 26 August 2011

We were on the 9.30 am bus tour of York and on the top of the bus was a brilliant chap called David who did a "live" tour which we found very interesting. My husband lived in York when a child but did not know half the facts contained in this very interesting tour of York. Wish it was a bit cheaper though.

“A great trip which included a boat trip as well”
Reviewed 27 June 2011

We paid £13.50 per person for a 48 hour bus pass, which included a boat trip down the river. We only used the ticket for 24 hours as we were going home soon after, but thoroughly enjoyed both trips and would highly recommend it to others.

Downside - no 24 hour option was available like we later noticed on other bus tours round the city

“Don't leave York off you itinerary”
Reviewed 1 June 2011

York is a wonderful city. The Cathedral is amazing and the walled city is gorgeous. Full of tons of little shops and streets that make you want to venture down them. We got the Tourist Bus which was run really well. The Wall around the city offers the viewer lots of good scenery and I really think you could stay here for at least three days to see all of it. We couldn't visit the Museum but I think it should be on the list after the Tower because it is such an ancient city with so much history.
