“Excellent attraction and free to enter but donation is asked for”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

We spent a few hours here and really enjoyed our visit, there was plenty to see and was not too busy, I really liked the Royal carriages but thats just personal choice all exhibits where well worth looking at. We had to stop for a coffee and a cake in the platform in the Royal carriages where you could sit in mocked seating, the service was good and was excellent value for money, would love to go back when next in the area.

“Awesome!”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

Free admission and the greatest exhibition of railway locomotives, rolling stock, equipment and everything else related to railways that you could ever wish to see. Plenty of history and information, all presented in layman's terms and designed to appeal to young and old.

“A good collection of full size locos and rolling stock.”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

The range of locos and rolling stock, all under cover, is very good, but I was hoping for more displays about railway engineering. A couple of displays were not available (it was January to be fair) and when you consider the entrance is free, I cannot complain at all.

“Fab free day out!”
Reviewed 21 January 2014

We love it here. An absolute gem of a place for a free day out. My 4 year old son loves it, and it holds the interest of my 7 year old daughter too. The Japanese Bullet train that you can sit on is especially interesting, as is the engine that is currently being restored.
