My partner and I got in for free as we have a NT membership, but I wouldn't have been disappointed if I'd paid the full price. It's a lovely house with lots of interesting features. Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. I wish the tour had lasted a bit longer, as there seemed to be little time to contemplate and look around; but we probably learnt more from our guide than we would have from the usual cards. We could not access some rooms - they're closed at the moment - but the few we saw were lovely, and the history of the house and of its owners was very entertaining. We didn't have time to go on the Cellar tour, which is a shame as it seems to be really good and atmospheric, but we'll probably come back another day for that.

We were lucky enough to visit the Treasure's House during the illumination festival in York. We had previously had a tour in the day time some years ago so were able to compare the experiences. The organisers had very effectively used artificial candlelight ( lots of wood around!) and electric spotlights both in the house and gardens to create a wonderful atmosphere. There was a sculpture exhibit with a very loud music backing in the garden which was interesting -although the human elements were a little disconcerting! It was very dark in the rooms and it was hard to read any information but there were plenty of room guides in costume to advise. It would be lovely to experience other historic houses in the same way as it really felt atmospheric. Well done to all involved.

Lovely interesting building that isn't what it seems.
Beautiful interiors and furniture, very knowledgable room guides. However, there used to be an audio guide a few years ago which was very good but this has been withdrawn. This is a shame and we'd like to see this reintroduced.
I took the tour of the cellar and attics (an extra charge exists for this) and both guides were great at bringing the areas to life.
Well worth a visit in York!

If I hadn't got free admission with my NT card, it wasn't worth the money to get in. Interesting layout, but very dark inside from the predominately green walls. Better attractions within York, but if you have NT membership, its good.

You can buy add on's, but didn't.

Interesting and reasonable value for money, the Treasurers House is definately worth seeing. Bought the ticket for the house rather than the add on tickets. Guides in each room impart interesting facts as you go around. Great place to go on a wet day. Had problems paying by debit card as the card machine doesnt always work due to bad internet connections. So had to scrabble around for cash. That said it was worth going.
