“Liked the Ghost Tour”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

Enjoyed our visit, the guides in the rooms were good and gave us lots of information and lovely cake in the tea room but what we really enjoyed was the Ghost Tour in the cellar...great story. The ghost trour is free for members yet we only found out about it by chance...they should promote it more actively and maybe tell visitors about it when they enter. Think it is possible to walk to Goddards from here, a mile or so, we didn't have time but good opportunity to visit two national trust properties in one day.

“This was just amazing”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

When you see this place you will be amazed by what some people did in the early 1900's. You get a good commentary from the various volunteers in the various rooms on the building.
To see a lot of these buildings it does pay to be in the National Trust which you can join for a set period prior to leaving Australia. It is much cheaper.

“Worth a visit!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

One place I always visit when I go to York is the Treasurer's house. They always have trails on for children and one thing you must do when you visit is go to the cellar to hear the stories of the Roman ghosts. The story never gets old hence the reason we always want to go to hear it. Wonderful and informative staff who are there to help and the house and garden are very well kept. One of my favorite National Trust places and probably the main reason I keep renewing my membership with the National Trust :)
