Lovely place, been done up superbly. Booked Sunday lunch. Great table. Drinks took forever to arrive and they couldn't serve what was on the drinks menu because they didn't have it, though to their credit they charged us the advertised price from the menu for what we wanted.
Food ordered eventually, again after a long wait, the menu's not that extensive. A huge wait for food ensued. They did apologise and said the kitchen was extremely busy. To be fair the food was tasty and the fisherman's platter looked very appetising. They gave us a round of drinks free because of the wait. We didn't order dessert as parking has run out the food took so long.
I had been for a coffee in the week and that took forever too. So, we will give it another try as the surroundings are extremely well done and the food good, when it arrived but if the service doesn't improve then they won't be getting repeat business as there are some wonderful places to eat in York (but I'm keeping them to myself!)More
