As a group of 6 we travelled with Caledonian Travel for a Easter weekend break and found this to be an excellent hotel. Clean and tidy rooms, good choice of meals and plenty of choice for breakfast. Staff were really good and very helpful.Would recommend this hotel for anyone staying and wanting to see York as it is very conveniently place to see the sights.

Room Tip: For anyone who has any disabilty or walking problems ask for the ground floor rooms.

Stayed for 5days/4 nights as part of a package hoilday with Caledonian Travel, a most enjoyable stay, although our room was a tad small but spotelessly clean, the staff were exceptionally helpfull at all times, dinner was always 4 courses and there was always a great choice at breakfast.Just loved the 'Laurel and Hardy' theme in the bar area. It is a family run hotel and very close to the centre of York, I would highly recommend this hotel and I would certainly go back at anytime

Room Tip: For those who might be disabled and or of ill health there are a number of rooms on the ground floor

Clean, comfortable, good sized, well appointed room. Friendly staff, adequate cooked breakfast, lots of toast, cereals and fruit. Car parking could be an issue for late arrivals but overall, this hotel offers great value for money so close to the city centre.

I stayed here in a single room, as a place to rest my head after a night out with work colleagues. The most striking thing about this hotel (apart from the fact that it's a lovely building) is the warm and friendly atmosphere. It is also well placed, being only a short distance from the centre.

My room was small, but had everything I needed - comfy bed, decent hanging space, chair, dressing table, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, tv. The bathroom was fairly modern with a large corner bath and shower over. It had lots of space for wash bag, make-up, etc; always a big plus in my book! The size of the bathroom was almost the same as the room.

I didn't have the cooked breakfast but the choice of cereals, fruit, etc, was good, with plenty of fresh juice.

Overall, this was a good hotel at a very reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Just stayed for two nights as a party of 6. All three rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is in good location to walk into centre. Great local pubs and places to eat. A nearby Indian resteraunt (Jorvic Spice) serves great food. The only drawback to the hotel is their car lark, which is small and difficult to get in and out of. However, hotel staff make every effort to ensure you can get parked. I would definitely stay again.
