I have been to York on several occasions it is the first time I have stopped at Elliotts what a fantastic place, extremely clean and friendly with a good choice of breakfast. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It is situated near the Museum Gardens and Minister, so location is spot on. This visit was with my husband to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary but great news I will be visiting again at the end of November with my daughter, for a Christmas shopping expedition

Room Tip: Room 2 spacious and sunny

We are two Kiwis who stayed at Elliotts for 5 days early in October this year. It was suggested by the Information Centre as we had no prior experience of York. What a great stay. When we got there Maureen greeted us like old friends and said that she had juggled her bookings so that for no extra charge we got a larger room. She thought it would be better for us as we were staying for a bit longer. She and Phil were expert hosts. They have been in the hospitality business and were clearly still passionate abut it. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were the the best we had had on this trip. Both the room and en suite were very fresh and very clean too.

We go to York once a year and this time we decided to stay over. After looking at several reviews we chose this B and B. Our room was ready as soon as we arrived (well before the 1.30pm check in time). Our room was absolutely amazing (we stayed in Room 1)!!! We were worried that one of our windows faced the train line but the double glazing and sturdy structure of the building meant that we heard nothing and we actually slept for a full 12 hours!!! Perfect!!! We were treated like royalty the whole time with our hosts being lovely and friendly. We will definitely be recommending this place to all of our friends and family and strongly suggest you stay here the next time you visit York!

Room Tip: Ask for room 1!!

Just spent two days at this lovely B&B in York. The proprietors--Maureen and Phil were so charming, kind and helpful. This is a lovely establishment very centrally located and close to the Minster and shopping. Our room was very large, well appointed and comfortable. We inquired about laundry facilities and While none are available for guest use--Maureen did a load for us. She even folded it!!! Now that's great service. All of their recommendations for food and sights were spot on. As we left in our taxi to the train station, Maureen and Phil waved us off from the porch. I can highly recommend The Elliott.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3. King sized bed and very large room. Faces the street though no road noise at...

Stayed at Elliott's for two nights. Huge room which was spotlessly clean. Great location - maybe 10 minute stroll into centre of York through gardens (be aware the garden gates are locked at 8pm each night). Maureen is very friendly and helpful. Met us on the doorstep as we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was also very good and efficient! Would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: We had Room 1 - massive!

We had a recent 3 night stay and would certainly return. The staff and management were very friendly & helpful. The room was superb and the breakfasts were very good. The location was good being a very short walk from the city centre and in a quiet area, with a good private car park. Highly recommended.
