We stayed for 2 nights in room 6 and it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Elliots was fully booked but the only time we knew there were other guests was at breakfast in the morning! Lovely hosts, relaxed, friendly and approachable. And the lady who serves breakfast is an absolute gem! The room was immaculate, spacious and very comfortable, we slept like logs, and the shower was hot and powerful, which is rarely the case in hotels/b&bs

We stayed here for 3 nights from Saturday 9th August. Great old Georgian house in a very good location - didn't need to use the car, less than 10min walk through a park to the walls.

Great size room and large king bed with nice soft mattress for our standard double option - very quiet out the back in room 9 - couldn't hear any other guests.

Hosts were very friendly and informative, provided a map and some tips. Excellent breakfast with good options. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 9 up the top and out the back is very quiet - cant hear any other guests.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Elliotts for three nights when we visited the lovely City of York. Elliotts is located an easy walk from the train station and after informing Maureen of our approximate time of arrival it was wonderful to have her greet us at the door before we even had to knock. We were traveling as a family and she put us in rooms 2 & 3. Both rooms were lovely, ours had a great king size bed and the girls had two twins. The rooms were both a good size, with their own bathrooms and were nicely decorated. We also had a nice door that only opened to our two rooms which gave us a nice extra added element of privacy. Breakfast in the morning was very good and the breakfast staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, and after the first day, remembered what we liked and had the table set up for this when we got there the remaining mornings! Both Maureen and her husband were helpful in giving us directions and helping with taxis when needed. Would recommend this B & B in a heartbeat. Thanks for the wonderful stay Elliots!

We stayed at Elliotts for the weekend of the tour de France. As a result we spent very little time in the B and B but it was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was varied, delicious and substantial with cereals, toast, full english breakfst, juices and yoghurts etc. The location was fanastic for us as it is approx 7 minute walk to the train station which allowed up to get to Harrogate but would equally be useful if you dont have a car or want to see other places by train. We ate in a hotel up the road (1 minute walk) called Hedley house hotel which was reasonably priced and nice food.
We stayed in a huge room which had very large bed and a separate room with another double bed. Surplus to our requirements but great as my husband could watch the tv in there when I went to sleep. Bath and over bath shower too which is always nice.
For people who struggle with the stairs, I don't know whether there are any ground floor rooms as we were up 2 flights of stairs.
There was a computer room which also had an iron and ironing board and the room had hairdryer.
All in all a very well set up place in great location near train station.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 5 and it was on 2nd floor no good for people who struggle with stairs but great if...

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at Elliot's with our BEST FRIENDS the night of June 25, 2014. What a lovely B&B, huge clean rooms and the owners have a wonderful sense of humor. It is a short walk to various restaurants. It was such a lovely place to stay. I hope that we get the opportunity to be repeat customers!

Room Tip: Both couples stayed in room 2 & 3. Vary spacious and very well decorated!

The bed and breakfast was easy to find being just off the ring road. It was a quiet street close to the Abbey and Museum. It had a wonderful car park beside the bed and breakfast. Our rental car was secure and yet very handy to reach. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean. The breakfasts were very good. We just had to walk through a walkway to the York Abbey and Museum. The town center was just off these attractions. The bed and breakfast was very convenient for visiting down town york.
