Did a 5.5 mile walk explained on North York Moors website that took in Castle Howard Estate. Great views of lake, house, temple, mausoleum and a lovely countryside walk on easy paths. Enjoyed a refreshment break at the cafe. Nice setting and delicious cakes but service a bit ‘off hand’. However didn’t pay to go in the grounds. Were impressed though that it was possible to park free and go to cafe, shop, toilets and garden centre. So often these stately homes charge a fortune to park before you get anywhere near the facilities.
