We stayed here a fortnight ago for 2 nights. It was a fantastic weekend weatherwise. We were in the Contempory Super King as it appears on the website- otherwise known as the Tower Room. Tony and Diana are excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They are quite rightly proud of their refurbished rooms which Tony showed us. The photos on the website do not do them justice. Everything is done to a very high standard and the extras provided like cotton buds and make up pads just add the finishing touches. An umbrella is even provided for your use if its needed. Also complementary cold soft drinks and chocolates in your room fridge. We walked in to York no problem in about 10-15 minutes but as other reviewers state there is a bus stop outside both ways if necessary. Excellent breakfasts and tips for visiting the City and restaurants added to a great trip. There is free parking if needed but we travelled by train and took a taxi. Approx £6 each way.

Stayed one night for our 20th wedding anniversary. On arrival given a pot of tea and chocolate. The room was beautifully decorated with comfortable bed.Excellent size and all facilities well thought through. Good choice of beverages with complimentary soft drinks and water in fridge. Great biscuits and chocolates also included! The toiletries were of a good size and
luxurious. We enjoyed a lovely meal in york city centre which was only a ten minute walk away. Breakfast was perfect. Beautifully cooked with quality ingredients , fresh fruit, selection of cereals, cheeses and a large range of homemade preserves to put on your toast. From beginning to end the service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a nice chat with a couple from Carlisle who had also had a lovely experience. If visiting york much nicer than a corporate hotel!

Two of us stayed at the end of May and thoroughly enjoyed our two day break. The room was nicely furnished and the owner couldn't have been more friendly and helpful throughout!

Located 10mins from the city centre...we would recommend this B and B without hesitation!

We spent a weekend in York at the end of April 2014. The accommodation had been chosen as a gift to us by our children. We were not disappointed. It was a home from home. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Tony and Diana are very friendly, helpful hosts. The complimentary drinks, chocolates and toiletries were replenished on a daily basis and greatly appreciated. Breakfast was lovely and well presented. Tony was very helpful with regards to providing information on local attractions, etc. and Diana very kindly showed us her newly refurbished rooms which are all tastefully decorated. The guest house is also within walking distance of York Minster etc. It is obvious that they clearly enjoy and take great pride in what they do, and we wish them all the best for the future. We would certainly make a return visit if ever we were in York again. Thanks Tony and Diana. Keep up the good work! Beverley and Douglas Farmer.

My elderly mother stayed for four days in a beautifully appointed tastefully furnished ground floor room at The Tower Guest House...Tony was so kind and helpful...nothing was too much trouble for him...amazing breakfasts....just can't praise it enough...so easy to get into York, bus stop near or ten minute to the Minster. Thank you Tony and Diana for making a wonderful holiday perfect. Joyce

Tony & Diana's B&B sets a brilliant example of what a tasteful, thoughtful and hospitable B&B can be...what a brilliant place to stay in York. Easy parking on arrival, bags carried up while you enjoy a cuppa and browse all of their suggested outings. Imaginative rooms (we were in the dormer windowed 5) and a hearty breakfast with many appealing detail touches. They even put themselves out to do an early Sunday morning bacon butty for us. A showery walk into the city...no problem, every room has a brolly! And now they are expanding so even more guests will have a chance to sample their friendly and very capable hospitality. Excellent.

What a wonderful place. Lovely room up the top, immaculately appointed down to the complimentary minibar and chocolates. Great breakfast each morning, extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay again if i have the good fortune to go back. About 10 min walk to the centre if town and bus stop close if you dont want to walk.
