It's really not easy find cheap accommodation in York, especially weekends. For double room we paid 100£/per night, but booking been done late .Room was clean, simple. I didn't like it bathroom at all( shower). On the carpet I saw stain, looks not nice.Budget hotel for max. one/ two nights. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

My wife and I have just had 2 great nights here for just over £20 a night. It's not the Ritz but what's to complain about for that price, particularly in York where it's not easy to find cheap accommodation? It was clean and had everything we needed with only a 10 minute walk to the old town but far enough out not to be too noisy. There was a bit of noise from the geese on the river and from Wetherspoons next door but not enough to bother us and the Wetherspoons was really handy for a reasonably priced breakfast. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

We have just spent 2 nights at the Travelodge, Piccadilly, York. We paid £35 per night for a double room. The room was warm, clean , comfortable, couldn't fault it. The only down side was the noise from the geese on the river. Taking everything into account that was a minor issue and wouldn't prevent us from staying again.

After booking this hotel which I thought I had already been refurbished, it seemed that wasn't the case. In fact the room looked quite out dated, and I was not very impressed- luckily York has a lot of things to do so we didn't have to stay in it that long! The room wasn't very clean, and I think that is one thing that is essential. It just seemed as if it was a hotel that people used as a night out as the hotel was quite noisy, not exactly a great place for families. Although one thing is that I couldn't fault the staff as we were checked in quickly.

Much better than some Travelodges, the upgrade has really worked here. Friendly front desk staff (think the guys name was Adam and the lass's name was Lottie) make check-in hassle free and easy. Wetherspoons right next door and I mean NEXT DOOR! 5-10 minute walk from the town centre (we went to the Barbican, less than 5 mins stroll away). NCP car park (under cover and manned) just up the road on the same side, £13.60 for 24h, well worth the cost. Overall, top notch experience and we'll certainly be staying here when we come next year.

I expected some noise it being a city centre hotel but nothing prepared me for the noise I experienced during my stay. Not only did we hear loads of noise from outside but constant noise from drunken guests. We just managed to drop off when the fire alarm went off, only to be told to go back to bed. Better off paying a little more for a decent night's sleep.

We hope all our guests have a comfortable stay with us 819Lin, so we are very sorry to learn of the level of noise you experienced in your room. We require a night staff member to patrol the hotel at night to ensure that a respectable level of noise from our other guests is maintained and we also try to reduce noise in our hotels by having insulated walls and double glazed windows. Unfortunately, it is also not always possible to fully reduce the noise that our guests might experience however we make every effort to minimise the noise that might be heard from outside the hotel. We’d like to be able to contact you to find a resolution so please could you visit our website and select the Contact Us button to tell us more and when doing so please indicate you have left a TripAdvisor review.

We stayed for one night & found the room more than adequate for us, it had been recently refurbished, was warm & clean. The location is good & all in all was good value for money for what we paid as York is not a cheap place to stay.
