I haven't had the best experiences with Holiday Inns in the past but was really impressed with this one. We couldn't get a room anywhere in the centre of York as it was bank holiday weekend but ended up really enjoying our stay here. It was easy to get the bus into the centre too.

The room was new, very clean and had one of the biggest beds I've ever seen in a UK hotel. Such a good night's sleep which I don't say often!

The hotel restaurant was brilliant. Nice setting, lovely Sunday roast dinner, food was very fresh. It's also well worth booking breakfast.

Will be back!

I didn't know what to expect of a Holiday Inn other than being pretty basic. However, I found it to be clean and comfortable and I got some of the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel. The breakfast was pretty good and seeing as it was over Christmas and Boxing Day I thought the staff were very good natured. I'm sure the profussion of mobility scooters was something to do with the timing of my stay but I would certainly stay here again over the more expensive Marriot just down the road.

Nice clean, quiet and comfortable room for an overnight stay with an excellent breakfast. All staff very pleasant. Plenty of free parking. There is not much to add but it appears I have to stretch this out to 220 characters!

Had an overnight stay with the husband mid December. Lovely hotel, lovely food, lovely room and lovely breakfast. Was a little pricey compared to other Holiday Inn locations, but didn't really mind as only stayed one night. A bus ride into town was £1.90 and return taxi was £6.50. Only real concern was that when husband woke and went out to car in the early hours to collect something, the reception was unstaffed and automatic doors freely open? A little lack of security maybe? But overall, had a great stay, would reccommend and return.

Room Tip: Booking breakfast is a MUST, it's fab. If you book more than 21 days in advance of your stay - i...

Visited with friends last December & had a great stay - visited again this December & the standards are still in place. The staff are eager to do all they can to help you - fortunate to get a room upgrade as a platinum member - hotel busy but no issues with room noise etc. Breakfast quality excellent. A special mention to the 2 girls on reception who are a credit to the brand - couldn't do enough to assist. Well done to Hayley & Rosanna!!

Room Tip: If you are lucky ask for an executive room on the third floor - alternatively at the rear of the hot...

Checked in Christmas Eve for a 2 night stay, Staff where very friendly & polite and was given a nice update and a free drink due to PCR Platinum.

Nice room, very quiet considering it was Christmas no rowdy guests at all.

Bathroom was on the small side, but the large TV made up for it which was nice to watch Christmas TV.

Had plenty of drinks in the hotel bar which where expensive but then again it was Christmas so who cares.

Who stay here again no worries.

Stayed for the York christmas market which was fab, only 6.00 pound by taxi so better than trying to park , hotel was great lovely breakfast , fab beds, we had room service that came fast and food was hot, staff were very polite, there is a lady on the front desk to help with sight seeing ideas thought that was a nice addition as strange places are a bit confusing, we had one morning with no hot water and we have had a discount toward our next visit cant get better than that so going again for xmas cant wait
