Just home from a 4 day easter break at this hotel . Hotel very clean staff couldn't do enough for us , had problem with a vent in the room first nite , complained within 10 mins problem solved moved us to another room .
Hotel is perfectly situated between 2 pubs if u wanna go out but no to far , lovely 35 min walk into centre of york pass the racecourse . Will definitely stay again and would recommend to friends

I stay in holiday inns all week so this was no surprise in terms of fittings and furnishings. Windows have been replaced so they open a bit which was nice as the location is quiet with birds tweeting (as in singing not on a mobile)
It's out of the town centre but a taxi or the bus is an easy option. Being put of town it's more for families and older couples.
Overall it meets the standards for these hotels. Food is Ok but only tried the breakfast.
Big TVs in bar for sport and bar is nice well decorated.
Starbucks coffee which is a bonus.
Only thing I don't understand is why no gym or pool.?
Staff on reception very friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed here overnight while attending a function at the race course.
Easy to find and in a great location 2 mins from the racecourse, didn't manage the walk into York the next morning as planned (a bit of a hangover!) but from reading other reviews doesn't sound too far.
Loads of free parking which is always a good thing in a York!
The rooms were modern and clean and had everything you expect from Holiday Inn.
Breakfast was lovely and the staff really friendly.
We will definitely use here again if in the area!

A nice hotel, easy to find and plenty of parking. Exec room was good although would have liked robes. Complimentary choc and water a nice touch. Breakfast very good and plenty of it. Staff very friendly as you would expect of Yorkshire.

This hotel is on Tadcaster road. We booked to stay here as we were visiting York for two nights. Although the hotel and staff are excellent it was further away than we first thought so had quite a long walk into york centre and taxi return was £8. We did not eat in the hotel as found the menu rather bland and very expensive and you will not be able to order a bottle of wine for under £20. I also thought that charging for the internet was excessive as most hotels I have stayed in usually offer free wifi or at the very least a lot cheaper than £12.95 for 24hrs. Parking however is free. There are couple of nice pubs within a few minutes walk of the hotel so dining there is an option the best one we found was the Cross Keys.
