We used the Caravan facility which Nigel has upgraded since he took ownership of the Steer Inn July 2010.He has done a super job.
We had 2 meals during our stay my hubby (who is a Steak and ale pie fan) had what he says is the best he has ever had!! Praise indeed. MY steak was also done tp oerfection The puddings are to die for and the oprtions are HUGE.
We had a really enjoyable evening nad would certainly advise people travelling the A1079 to use this Pub.
Visited this hotel for a birthday celebration, the function room wasdecorated lovely.All the staff were plesant and atentive.The buffet was excelent and plenty of it. Our room was very warm and cosy.The breakfast was verry nice and good selection of food.Looking forward to going back and trying the main restaurant as the menu looks good,The hotel is in an ideal location for York or the Coast
stayed at the Steers Inn for the weekend 4th Dec, had the BEST TIME EVER, very warm welcome by Nigel and his girlfriend, the rooms were clean and tidy, the food was excellent, the carvery on the Sunday was to die for, we will be staying at this hotel every time we go to York, only 7 miles outside. Bus stops right outside hotel to take you into York, can't praise it any more, just a fantastic stay, thanks Nigel and gang.
From the warmest of welcomes to the checking out we could not have asked for more. The staff did everything in their power to make our stay as memorable as possible. Looking forward to going back. Clean beds, good food and good staff, cant ask for more. Good value for money.
We stayed at the Steer Inn around 3 years ago, and decided to go back for our parents birthdays because we enjoyed the first stay. It is now under new ownership and this family run concern are so welcoming and friendly that we shall definitely be going back. Having booked to eat in the restaurant Saturday evening we where not disappointed, I as last time had the 32 ounce T bone steak which was cooked to perfection.We was a party of 12 adults and a 2 year old, all with different orders and food came out all together and everyone enjoyed it. The rooms are basic but very clean and are undergoing a revamp under the new owners so it is really on the up. After a beautiful breakfast in the morning our 2 year old Grandson was getting a little restless and was taken by the owners sister to the play area they have which i thought was a very nice thing to do for us (thank you). If you like your steak, this is the place to go.You arrive as strangers and leave as friends, many thanks to all of you at the Steer Inn for making our stay an enjoyable one, we will definitely be back.
Made to feel very welcome on arrival and staff were all very friendly and made us feel at home especially Pat and Diane. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the food was excellent.. The location was just ideal for us visiting York. Will definately be going back.
