The Yorkshire Wheel is a scaled down London Eye, only 60 metres tall. It is situated in the grounds of a hotel on a temporary basis and I understand only until 13th Sept 2013 when it will be dismantled.
The ride itself is perfectly good, but even at its highest point you have a good view of the railway station, the river and across the old York Wall the Minster. There is nothing else that captures the imagination on the skyline. The wheel rotated 4 times, but the commentary only lasts two. I suspect the extra two revolutions give the photographer the extra time to get the expensive souvenir packs ready for departing guests. Better located, this would be more interesting.
