“Excellent location”
Reviewed 1 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Very comfortable first floor apartment, very central, easy to walk to Minster, theatre and City centre. Lots of cafes , restaurants and pubs nearby. We were there during the York illuminations week. Very clean, comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, even milk in the fridge on arrival

“Very pleasant”
Reviewed 25 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Excellent location and extremely peaceful considering the proximity of the main road. The apartment is nicely decorated and very clean. The kitchen is well knitted out although I did miss a dishwasher. The sofas are comfortable but it would be helpful to have a couple of coffee tables for drinks. The bed I found very small but I am used to a superking at home! I totally understand about not having Windows which open, but this would be a real issue for me in warmer months.
All in all, a pleasant apartment but just falls short of excellent.

Management Response
3 Oct 2016
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your time in York and the apartment.

Just to clarify the workings of the windows, a feature of this period property;

In the living room we have 3 original large sash wooden windows, all of which open to let lots of fresh air into the apartment. Similarly the bedroom also has sash windows to each side of the large bay which again open.

We have had to lock the large bay window in the bedroom as we found that some guests were not familiar with the care needed when opening and closing the window, which as an original wooden period window, needs to be handled a little more gently than a UPVC window that you may find in a modern development, which is perhaps where the confusion has arisen.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience of your stay.

“Amazing Apartment!”
Reviewed 14 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Arrival was simple and straightforward. Sarah was helpful and very pleasant to communicate with. Easy access to the key box meant we were in the flat within minutes. The apartment is absolutely stunning - excellent size, beautiful original features and tastefully decorated. It was a little chilly when we arrived but additional fan heater/ fire in the lounge meant the flat was toasty within minutes. Spotlessly clean, with everything you would need. Car parking was an additional £5, but this was to buy a permit so seemed fair enough (and cheaper than hotels in York). Car park was at the reverse of the building and we didn't have any issues finding a space. The location was amazing. We have stayed in York a couple of times before and although we have stayed centrally we did not feel as close to the city as here. You can see the city walls across the road from the front room window and are only a couple of hundred yards from York Minster. There is a Sainsbury's local, cafe, several pubs and an Indian within twenty yards or so. It was slightly more expensive than staying in a hotel but definitely worth it. We would (and plan to!) stay again.

“STILL AS GOOD AS BEFORE”
Reviewed 11 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Everything was easy through the booking process and Sarah was happy to know we were on a return visit. Can only say what a pleasant flat it is and so convenient for the town centre but quiet at the same time, Probably will book again if we find a avacant slot when we need one.

“Perfect location, near perfect apartment - recommended”
Reviewed 21 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The apartment is as per the photos and its location is great, right outside the city walls so everything is in easy walking distance.
Furnishings& decor are attractive, clean & comfortable, a lovely style & feel. Being really picky just a few tiny tweaks and it would be totally perfect, a 2nd tea towel(!), brighter light bulbs in the beautiful chandelier & bedroom light. The free wi-fi was reliable and useful.
Parking is very close by, with daily car park passes provided (do run only to 8 a.m. so wake-up call needed on your final day) Next to the car park there is also a handy supermarket & cashpoint.
Being so close to the heart of York, eating out is easy, 100s of options - we liked the Gillygate pub and The Exhibition for their ales and food.
As well as being close to the city centre, it's also close to the ring road so access out to Castle Howard, North York Moors etc. is easy too - traffic is heavy at peak times, so an excuse to lie in and relax!
Our first visit to York, loads to see, do and enjoy, and we'd love to come back and would definitely want to stay in Apartment 1 again.

“First class place in brilliant location.”
Reviewed 14 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Really enjoyed our stay and found the apartment to be fitted out in quality fiitings and lots of extras. Very generously appointed. It has a Sainsbury Local right bon the doorstep and York Minster alomost a stone throw away. Very secure and safe location. Parking permits were organised (if you come by car). All in all, it would be hard to better in every area.
