The tour itself was good, interesting and hands on. The massive let down was the café!
We bought a milk shake and hot chocolate which came to about £8 (a tad expensive) but had nowhere to sit as all the tables were empty but filthy! 3 members of staff stood behind the counter not doing anything so had to ask for the tables to be cleaned.
Milkshake was lovely, hot chocolate had a ridiculous amount of cream so much so that a member of staff came over and apologised for the state of it.

Go on the tour, don't waste money in the shop.
Ps one great member of staff in the shop mad things a tad better, think he was called sam.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

It is really great to hear that you enjoyed the tour and the hands on experience.

Our staff do try and keep the café as clean as possible, so I’m disappointed to hear that you found it that condition. We’ll address this with the team. On the whole our customer feedback on our cleanliness is very good.

We’ll also pass on you positive feedback to Sam, which I am sure he will be very pleased to hear.

Thanks again for the feedback. We use all our reviews to constantly improve our visitor experience, so it is much appreciated.

Was a spur of the moment excursion, but well worth it. Very interesting to hear the history of chocolate and even better when you get to make your own chocolate lollies! Getting to watch the chocolatier show you step by step how he makes his chocolates, Make sure you stop in when in York !!

Staff were very friendly and cooperative we arrived late and missed our tour but the lovely girls fitted us in the next tour . Nothing was an effort for them. The tour was very good the talker was funny friendly and very patient with noisy children on the tour. Would recommend this as a lovely afternoon out. The cafe is lovely. Would gob again.

Thank Gillian C

I liked this tour a lot. Some history, some chocolate tasting, some chocolate making, and some more chocolate tasting.

Staff were ok, tour ok and chocolate ok. It didn't 'wow' us and we couldn't take our pushchair on the tour which was a nightmare!!! Chocolate in the shop at the end was so expensive, your basically paying £20 for an average sized box of chocolates...

Hello and thank you for leaving a review. We do our absolute best to let people take pushchairs on the tour if they wish. However, we are a city centre attraction with limited space at certain points of the tour. I am sure that you can appreciate it can be difficult to accommodate pushchairs on large tours with other members of the public

We offer products from as little as 60p and are proud to offer a comprehensive range of some of the finest chocolate in the UK.
