OK you get what you pay for in this Hotel, That being said - it is very central and if you book early you can PARK! York is a wonderful town, probably only bettered by London.

The Queens offers good accommodation, if a little dated. BUT a room is for sleeping (generally.. ) the Beds are comfortable and the Bar is OK.

Breakfast is good - Dinner is to be avoided! but why would you eat there when you have so many great restaurants in the city.

Visit York and stay in the Queens - great city and value Hotel. but do not set your hopes too high, be content on the saving.

If you can get a cheap deal for this hotel and you need secure parking - in short supply in central York - this is a reasonable hotel to use for an overnight stay. Nothing fancy, bit of a dated reception area, but generally clean and well appointed rooms with a lovely river view. Close to the centre of York and all the attractions. However, the breakfast was quite poor, both in terms of service (had to wait with about a dozen other guests for about 20 minutes to get seated as they seemed to have over booked) and quality (cheap sausages, no proper HP sauce, ran out of croissants an hour into service and some guests had to wait ages for bacon). Wouldn't visit again myself but if you just need somewhere to lay your head, this is a cheap and cheerful option!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

Lovely spacious clean room bed comfy.Location fantastic. .Close to all amenities
.£10 for parking was a rip off.Drinks in the bar was expensive. Breakfast would have being better if fried egg was offered.Saying that the breakfast was nice.

We stayed at this hotel with a living social voucher deal. The decor is dated and the room we were in looked tired, especially the grimy bathroom. Soap scum and mouldy fixtures didn't make for a relaxing wash time nor did the dodgy shower which half-flooded the floor. Some of the cushions on the bed felt clammy and there were also spider webs on the corner of the room, we even spied a dead bluebottle fly on the floor! To top it off I woke up with 6 bites on my legs...bedbugs???! Disappointment aside, it's location is fantastic, with river view rooms, the staff are ok and the breakfast is nothing to write home about. We wouldn't stay here again, certainly not for the £60 deal price we paid, let alone full price! When enquiring about the possibility of paying a supplement to stay on the weekend due to work commitments, we were told it would be an extra £60. A price which seems extremely unreasonable after spending a night there.

We had room 1 which was very noisy from nighttime footfall and bar noise.
Our shower was near to useless leaking all over the floor.Bed was comfy.
Breakfast was a cooked buffet which was ok.
Parking was £10 per night offsite.
All in all I'd say the price dragged down my rating, would have been happier paying £80 per night.
