Walking distance to Yorkminister and market. Staff (especially Emme) was extremely knowledgeable about area sights and eating establishments. Easy parking. Good rates. Welcoming, warm, secure, clean rooms with everything you need for overnight stays.

We stayed at the Premier Inn (North) Blossom Street, York for two nights on the 23rd and 24th November and took advantage of their ‘Meal Deal’. The hotel, which is a five minute walk from York Railway Station, is located at Micklegate Bar and thus very convenient for sightseeing in both York city centre and at the National Railway Museum. Reception was friendly, efficient and speedy and the rooms were comfortable, roomy and presented to the company’s usual standard. However, the restaurant was located in the South Blossom Street branch of the hotel chain and consequently a coat was required to visit the establishment. The North branch just had a Costa Coffee outlet. Moreover, staff at the combined restaurant always appeared to be overwhelmed with the numbers of customers using the facility. All were apologetic but perhaps some additional staff should be employed to allow the dining experience to improve. I would recommend the hotel for location but the ‘Meal Deal’ did not live up to our expectation and if we return we will be eating elsewhere as there was plenty of choice nearby. Drivers should be aware that there is a fee for parking your car.

Stay at the Premier Inn for 2 nights, the Hotel was easy to find parking on site limited spaces at a charge. Check Inn was ok with friendly staff. We had a room on the second floor facing the inner court yard so it was quiet at night and we had the window open. The room had large windows and was bright during the day but at night the room was a little dingy and the lighting the the room was not bright enough the bathroom was clean and bright. The room had a large double bed that was clean and comfortable, only hanging space for your clothes now draws. Over all the room was nice clean and ideal for a short stay would stay again and recommend. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel at £8.00 we thought it was over the top and eat breakfast at the Punch Bowl over the road good and half the price. We did have an evening meal in the restaurant and the food and wine were very good at very reasonable prices the service was excellent. The Hotel is ideally situated a short stroll into the centre and all attractions, you can see the train station from the hotel so if you can come by train you will save about 8.50 per day parking.

Room Tip: Room facing the inner court yard quiet even with the window open

Stayed here for business for one week as our usual Royal York Hotel was not available. My previous experince of 'Budget' hotels has not been great but I was generally impressed with this one. Conveniently located about a 10 minute work from the centre and only a few minutes from the station. Staff very friendly, polite and happy to help.

The room was spacious and clean. I had a room in a rear annex away from the road and would have asked for this based on previous reviews. My only grip was that the heating did not work the first night but this was quickly remedied the next day. Also, there was a weird air conditioning unit in the wall that made various strange noises. One night these woke me and my colleagues experienced the same. This is probably the only reason from giving a full score.

Breakfast was served in the sister hotel about 20 meters down the road. This was not inconveneint in any way. I wasn't expecting much but was delighfully surprised by the quality of both the continetal and cooked buffet options. They even cooked me an omlette to order (very nice)! What also made this good was that you can help yourself to free Costa Coffee. Didn't eat here in the evening but local colleagues give it good reviews.

Would return for business or with my partner for a weekend away.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the road are quiet

Great location for a typical Premier Inn, and by that I mean very clean, very efficient and good value. One tip re. parking, when you drive in following the signs for hotel car park, the sign you see on the right hand side is for 'LPS', this is the Premier Inn car park.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the welcoming lady/waitress at breakfast. Ten minutes' walk gets you into the centre of York, which of course is lovely.

Room Tip: I was in the annexe, it was lovely and quiet.

The Premier Inn on Blossom Street is in easy walking distance from York Railway Station. The staff are first class, freindly and extremely helpfull. Nothing is to much bother. The only down side is Car Parking. It is available on a 1st come 1st serve basis, but is restrictive. The staf are continually striving to make your stay enjoyable and make the hotel a place to return to offering excellent value for money. A victim of its own success.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel. Rooms on the front aspect tend to be a little noisy as Blo...

this is a shame as the staff, location and food were all great. My problem was with the mattress being do uncomfy. The staff to their credit did put another duvet under the mattress but didnt see any point of moving rooms as the beds were all the same, so i was told. good bits- went to check in, very nice and a smooth check in. got all the info i needed. the room was quiet, good size nothing spectacular but at the price was not expecting that. air con worked, a bit of noise out in the corridor, but not that bad. costa cafe was great, very comfy, breakfast was great, plenty of space, but would advise early as that is when we went and was always quiet, couldnt say for later on. thing is we were there for sleep after sightseeing all day, so in that sense i hope they can sort out the beds as this to me was the most important part of the stay. everything else i could have got elsewhere, hence the 2 stars. 2 hours of sleep and having to get up to stretch is not ideal. this was room 2214 so if is just a mior bad experiance i have had someone let me know.
