“Warrens - York, May 2012”
Reviewed 1 February 2013

Me and my girlfirend stayed at Warrens on the 11th and 12th May 2012. (yes ive only just got round to reviewing)
Overall i would highly reccomend the guest house.
The location is excellent, just outsdie of the city, but in easy waling distance, 10-15 mins.
The room we had was up 2 flights (i cant remeber the number), but this was not a problem. The room was spacious and had a 4 poster bed, the bathroom was quite small but overall i would say it was an excellent room.
The owners were very helpfull and down to earth, and all the local "family feel" you would expect with a guest house rather than a chain hotel was excellent.
There is also a small (very tight) car park at the back of the house, offering guests off road parking which again was brilliant as we had no need for the use of the car for the whole time we were there but could be assured it was safe.
Breakfast were also excellent, with a choice of full english, salmon, or cereals etc. all very nice.

To conclude, the hotel rates highly on most reviews and rightfully so, location, room size and quality, and the hotel as a whole are all excellent.

Really nice stay for a weekend. Lovely scenic walk into York centre which takes about 10 mins. Hotel was a home away from home, really cosy. Breakfast was great most things were on offer. The only negative things were the really noisy extractor fan in the bathroom and the hot water tap was difficult to turn off, but apart from that it was good. Really spacious and modern room. The place was easy to find, would stay here again if we come back to York.

We stayed at this B&B for 4 nights in October 2012. The room we had was excellent, breakfasts each morning were well cooked and the staff are very friendly and helpful. An added bonus was the car parking, you can leave your car in the car park and easily walk into York town centre - 15 minutes maximum. Highly recommended B&B and we would certainly stay here again when next visiting York

Room Tip: We stayed in a room at the front of the hotel, and found no disturbance from the road outside.

We recently had a 3-night break in York and stayed at Warrens B&B which we found via a York tourist information website. It is easy to find and has its own car park. This is unusual in York, and we found it a real bonus. Our car stayed parked for the duration of our break as everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. We arrived a little earlier than anticipated but our room was ready and we had a very warm and friendly welcome. Local information and directions for the easiest routes into the city were enthusiastically given. Our large double bedroom was on the first floor at the front of the building, had a big bed, plenty of storage space and looked like it had been recently refurbished in fashionable black and white. The room and en-suite were very clean. There was a 'no vacancies' sign up but you would hardly know that there was anyone else staying there as it was so quiet. There was some traffic noise at night but after a day's sightseeing, getting off to sleep really wasn't a problem! A small lounge downstairs provided wifi and internet access, and an honesty bar. The only slight disappointment to our visit was that the kitchen was closed (I think the owners were away) and therefore breakfast was not available. We were informed of this before our booking was confirmed and offered a discounted rate, and chose to go book anyway. The dining room is in the conservatory and looks lovely and it was a bit of a shame that we could not dine in there. However, there was no difficulty in finding a good place to have breakfast locally. Overall a really comfortable, friendly, reasonably-priced and convenient place to stay, which is to be highly recommended.

Warrens is what it says on the tin. Small hotel or largish guesthouse - take your pick. We were there for seven nights to see this wonderful city and family too. They gave us Room 1, a large, well furnished and beautifully decorated room - with three lovely mirrors apart from that in the bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious and the personal, caring service were a delight.
Not a complaint but it is a good 15 minutes walk to the first part of the city centre - a consideration if you are elderly or infirm. This is a really good place to stay and worth every penny. We'd go back like a shot

Room Tip: If you're going to be there more than a couple of nights ask for Room 1; it's spacious and v...

Saw this cute B and B on the visit York site and after a quick browse online booked within about thirty seconds! I got a confirmation the next day. We got there and was greeted by the friendliest lady ever, she was so interested in making our stay extra special with recommending things she thought we would enjoy.
I got such a surprise with the room, it was so spacious and beautifully decorated. (With added hair dryer and ironing board!)

We walked into town taking about 10 mins and taxis in the evening which cost between £5-£6 each way, so location is fantastic and there are some cute shops and cafes on the way in :-)

Breakfast was superb, such high quality and the waitress was so friendly and cheery.

Even when we were checking out the owners Richard and Jenny were so eager for us to enjoy our trip through Harrogate home, even googling a farm I wanted to see!

We had such a lovely stay, I'm looking into a weekend in the spring!!

Book Warrens :-)

We stayed for three nights after seeing the good reviews aon TripAdvisor and the York Information Office. We took two rooms, both a nice size with comfortable beds. I wish I had asked for twin beds though as I am used to a King sized bed and the basic double was a bit tight for us. Our room was road side, so was a bit noisy which meant we couldn't have the windows open during the night. The car park is a bit tight to get in and out, but we did manage it. Breakfast very nice with specials every day. I don't walk very much, so it took me 15 minutes to walk into the City. By the end of our three days, I was getting a bit weary of the walk, so took the car. They do have a trust bar, which is a nice touch, although we didn't use it.
