We were very pleased with this hotel! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is fantastic. It is in easy walking distance for everything that you would want to do in York. Next time we are in York, we will definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff, breakfast very good, could have as much as we wanted, which we did, outdoor hot tub & sauna was lovely, Wifi was hopeless but found it the same all round the city. Very good location lovely walk into the centre

The hotel is more like a large B&B, a couple of huge terraced properties joined together. There are lots of stairs and no lift so it's not ideally suited for those with mobility problems. They have a large car park at the back which was free but on a first come first served basis. The table service was a bit slow at breakfast but the food was better than you often get at budget hotels. The rooms were very warm and there was no air con or even a fan but we left the windows open and it was manageable. The rooms were relatively well furnished and had tea/coffee facilities.

I felt that the prices were a bit high for what you get but it was peak season and most places around the centre are expensive with it being such a touristy city. A group of us stayed for a weekend and the management were very understanding when some of the group got a bit rowdy after enjoying one too many drinks in the sun. The location is very good, just a short walk from the city centre, and you can cut through the museum gardens during the daytime which was pleasant and brings you out near the minster.

We stayed here in a recent trip in July with a family of 4 including two teens. The location was excellent. It was a short walk to the city center. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was good and the staff efficient.

The room was clean and the furnishings in good condition. My only complaint was that the WiFi was weak and the bed covers quite shabby.

This room was a good value for the money.

Friends and I stayed here for a hen party a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff were so warm and welcoming and really made an effort to ensure the bride and the rest girls had great weekend going out their way to make everything meet our needs. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The hotel was in an excellent location within walking distance of York centre- there was parking to the rear of the hotel and the hotel was also very handy for the train station! Breakfast was very yummy with plenty of options to meet everyone's needs. Everybody in our party had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Hedley House, we would all recommend this hotel as a great place to stay when visiting york. The bride to be would like to thank all the staff for making her weekend unforgettable.
