Wandering around York there are plenty of cafes to choose from. This one caught our eye with it fresh, modern appearance and a selection of tasty looking salads, sandwiches and cakes on display. On first impressions this is a fresh, new concept- every customer gets to roll a dice. If they roll a 6 they get every item for £1 each. If not, they pay the full price. The staff were helpful and cheerful and happy to explain (i think it has only just opened). The food was tasty and a bit different to the other run of the mill cafes. However, it doesnt seem to know if it is a cafe or a take away. You pay extra to "sit in", but still have to purchase your food and carry it to your table. While this wasnt exactly a chore, the prices were more in line with that which you would expect to pay for table service
The food and staff were good but it did seem a bit on the pricey side. I would rate it 3.5- good- above average, but less than very good
