We paid our first visit to Breezy Knees garden today and were blown away by the colour and variety of plants. We had a perfect day for weather and the gardens were at their very best. We spent hours wandering round enjoying the peace and tranquility of the gardens despite there being quite a few visitors there too. Plenty of seats in the shade to sit and ponder the colour schemes. We found the clear labelling very useful. Marvellous selection of plants for sale in the nursery - which to choose? The cafe provided much needed refreshment after our tour round and there was a lovely selection of home made cakes.

Situated in the deepest rural outskirts of York this garden was a total surprise! 15 acres of herbaceous plants immaculately planted. The borders flow in drifts of colour, true text book style, not a weed in sight with lots of seating and quiet places to enjoy the thousands upon thousands of plants. We spent 5 hours there, a truly lovely day out. My only negative comment is the distance to the toilets which are a long way from the garden and were a painful struggle for my friend after a hip replacement. Surely an Eco-toilet could be installed without planning permission?

I visit here with my family at least 3 times a year and every time it gets better. Saturday's visit was just amazing. Beautifully designed and planted, and immaculately kept. The plants are all really healthy and well cared for with great labelling. An astounding place - can't recommend it highly enough.

The place is very typical english garden, the water feature was lovely. There could be more seats and that way you could sit and enjoy the plants/flowers much better. Near the pond it was very tranquil, but a lack of seats means you cannot stop and enjoy...plenty of scope for more and the plants for sale are lovely and very reasonably priced. The coffee shop is nice to sit and chill out.

Breezy Knees garden gets better every year that we visit. Yesterday the sunshine was brilliant & so each 'specialized' garden was like a picture-postcard!The plants, shrubs& trees were immaculate-not a weed to be seen! The Long borders were a riot of colour & particularly impressive.
There were several new additions since our last visit e.g--Circular plant arches in the September garden;a beautiful wooden entrance to one garden;more benches for resting & enabling you to enjoy the scenery. The most spectacular was the White rose fountain with its 'dancing water'!
The shade garden with its pond & surrounding plants was a peaceful haven on such a hot day.
We met many garden-enthusiasts there who all confirmed that it was one of the best gardens they'd visited & like us they were taking many photographs to try & 'copy' at home in their own gardens!
After such a truly enjoyable afternoon what could be better than tasty refreshments in the cafe and a browse in the well-stocked nursery (both very reasonably priced).
This garden should not be missed!--excellent value & fully recommended! Well done to you all, you are are a great asset to Yorkshire!-Thank you.
