“The Annex at Oliver Farm”

We had a lovely holiday. The accommodation was excellent and decorated to a high standard. Conveniently situated for day trips to Leeds, York and Scarborough. Chocolates and wine on arrival was a lovely touch.

“Could have stayed longer! Lovely little find”
Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

From first contact with the owners I knew we were going to enjoy our stay, communication was great and with lots of info provided about things to do in the area (I also had a little messing around with dates and things and they have a lot of patience). On arrival there were really lovely little touches like wine on the table, coffee pods and more. It was spotlessly clean and really light and airy. We were travelling as myself, my partner and my brother and there was plenty of room for us but I can see that the place would be ace for families too as the toys and activities for everyone provided are great (plus the climbing wall). We were very luck with the weather and managed bbq's both nights (everything available for you to have a bbq easily and sit out and just enjoy the peace). Lovely little village pub called the Crown where the staff and the locals could not be more friendly and welcoming, food was good too. The owners are great and just welcome you and then leave you be but you know they are there and would happily help if you needed anything. You really do feel right at home and it was such a relaxing break for us. Would definitely stay again and we are already looking for further dates

“Great base for a family trip to York”
Reviewed 4 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I would highly recommend this cottage, its exactly how it looks online if not better, and very spacious perfect for our family of five, as hotels are just not practical with three kids. Two large bedrooms and two bathrooms a bonus. Very quirky interior and all you need for a short break (fridge, toaster, microwave etc) , very comfortable beds. The kids loved playing outside with the owner's children too! 5 minute walk to the pub and a quick drive into both York and Leeds. The owners are very helpful and Ruth gave us good advice about our days out. We would definitely return.

“perfect family getaway.”
Reviewed 12 May 2016 for a stay in February 2016

the annex at oliver farm is a perfect retreat for young couples or groups of friends but is a real treasure for anyone with a young family. we spent a lovely weekend travelling around Yorkshire and used the annex as our base. it is very well presented and blends the comforts of modern living with rustic farmhouse charm effortlessly. theres a large central living area combining a kitchen/dining area and lounge. large tv with a wide selection of family friendly dvds. loads of books boardgames and a wii and a good selection of kids toys to keep everyone entertained.
theres two large bedrooms both en suite. both have super comfy double beds and one has got a nice big bunkbed that the kids loved to argue bout who was getting the top.
outside theres a gravel driveway leading to a paved courtyard area and small lawn with outdoor play facilities and a little climbing wall. its so quiet and really safe for the kids.
its peaceful and secluded yet there are many amenities nearby such as fish n chip shops a convenience store/petrol station, fastfood chain, and a great curry house. theres a nice teashop nearby as well.
ruth and rob made us feel really welcome. theyre a lovely couple with a great sense of humour and genuine warmth and friendliness. well definitely be going back to this little gem.

The Annex at Oliver Farm proved to be perfect for our needs (four adults and two small children). We would have no hesitation at all in recommending it to others.
