Room not clean ,very dusty, toilet seat loose , shower not working , sliding door had gaps either side , breakfast , I have had a lot better and tastier . I would not recommend this hotel but I would recommend York
We booked family room based on reviews and website. Pictures of rooms looked lovely. On arrival welcome was good. Jeanette was helpful. We went to room 16 and going up to room could smell fried food on stairs. Room was clean, and large but looked nothing like the webpage. Also room very cold. We found the radiators were turned off. We turned them on but no heat. My husband went to speak to Jeanette who told him the boiler was broken but she gave us some heaters.
Sleep was difficult due to traffic and road noise from main road.
The shower is very disappointing a dribble. Not good in a cold bathroom.
Breakfast OK but staff service not consistent. Some are friendly and helpful but others are surly and unhelpful. My daughters didn't want full English and ask for just sausages. They were given one each. Quite tight given they didn't have bacon, egg, tomato or mushrooms.
We will not return or recommend.
We booked this b&b's for a 2 night break and it served our purpose very well!
Room clean and well appointed. Staff helpful and courteous. Cooked breakfast very good, with locally sourced sausages, bacon, eggs etc.
just got back from a week end in York, it was very quiet, but still sleep quality was poor, as for breakfast, was no varieties for vegetarians, but we enjoyed York., it was lovely and the we were lucky enough to get some sun :)
Excellent service from the staff - delicious breakfast! About a 15 minute walk from York Station, but No. 1 bus every 10 minutes from the station - ask for the iron bridge and get the driver to tell you where to get off - it is exactly opposite the Holgate Bridge Guesthouse!
