Owner description: A warm welcome awaits all who visit Fulford Golf Club. Situated in a heathland and woodland setting just one mile from the centre of the historic city of York, Fulford Golf Club remains one of the best inland golf courses in Britain. Twenty three consecutive European Tour events in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s firmly put Fulford on the global golfing map, and the list of winners at Fulford includes an array of Ryder Cup Players & Captains and many Major winners.

We received a very warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door of this golf club. The waiting staff for breakfast are courteous and helpful as we tucked in to a pre-18 hole breakfast and coffee. The course is challenging at times but well worth it.... It is beautifully maintained even after a difficult winter with snow and rain. The greens all run true and the fairways are long in comparison to many courses we have played but again maintained by an obviously meticulous green keeping team. The welcome in the bar after was friendly and professional and we can all recommend some of Yorkshire's finest ales on offer. We opted to have our lunch in the bar but there is a choice of bar, dining room, lounge or outside on a warmer day overlooking the 18th. Therefore another visit in the summer is in order. All in all a wonderful day out enjoyed by all. Thank you

Having just returned from a fantastic days golf and a great meal and hospitality at Fulford, I am at a loss to understand previous comments about Fulford. The hospitality was first class, facilities as expected from a venue such as this, the golf course was still a little 'wintery' due to the cold weather, but still far ahead of my own course, and we will be returning in the summer with my society - cant wait! don't worry Fulford I suspect the previous comment is just mischief making!

A regular visitor over the years and one misses the Lombardy poplars (removed because of disease I believe) which were a helpful guide to the course before the advent of Sat Navs. The course stands on a narrow strip of landed barely wider than 2 fairways but none the worse for that. The long walk over the A64 and then back again later is mildly irritating but a little extra exercise is probably good for you.

Good course. Staff who do not know how to run a business and treat people with the courtesy expected by customers.
