We took advantage of the email offer of lunch, bed and breakfast on a cold Friday in February. The hotel is a little gem about 10 minute walk from the centre of York. Each member of staff we met was helpful and lovely. The room, we went for a four poster, was beautiful and very quiet. Although there wasn't a shower the bathroom was huge with a lovely old fashioned roll top bath and plenty of hot water. We went to the Guy Faulkes, a sister hotel near the Minster, for lunch and it was amazing. The waiter was wonderful and took time to answer all our queries and find out information from the chef. The food was simple but delicious. I can see why the pies are famous. There was a big choice for breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection. All in all we had a lovely break and will definitely go back to Marmadukes!More
