Took a short break in York for a change of scenery.

The Bronte was a great choice, so welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent, around 4mins and you get to the Minster.

The breakfasts were tasty, Ruth is an absolute gem.

Rooms were spotless and very well appointed. Rates are very reasonable, the Bronte will now be my go-to preference for my next visit to York

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of our 10 year anniversary celebrations
Mick, the host, was great and very knowledgeable of the area.
Parking was free and permit was given to park right outside
Room was lovely and well appointed, there was even some prosecco and strawberries to help us celebrate
Breakfast was perfect and just what you need to start your day exploring York (which is just a 10.minute walk up the road)

Would definitely stay here again

Our room was lovely. Very clean and spacious. even though the train line was across the road from our window, you got used to the noise, as the trains are very few and far between. They don't seem to run during the night?
The room has fantastic curtains which completely block out the light (essential for people with thin eyelids, like me!).

Our breakfast (included in the price of the room) was delicious. Everything you could imagine you'd want was offered. The dining room was easily accessible and quintessentially English.

The proprietor was more than helpful with any advice needed on how to best enjoy our stay.

York's main shopping area (The Shambles etc) is within walking distance, depending on your level of fitness. Taxis are everywhere so even if you walk into town, you could quite easily get one back to the guest house.

McArthur Glen shopping centre is approximately a 15 minute drive away. You can hop on the train (platform just a quick walk away) and apparently it takes you directly to it. Get there early if you are travelling by car to bag a good parking spot. The car park is huge but fills up quickly.

The Bronte Guest House offers free street (very quiet, leafy, one-way) parking directly outside the property. You are given a free parking pass to display in the car window.
Also, FREE WI - FI is available.

We have been to York many times but this time was just to relax. There are an abundance of historical sights to see and visit, both for young and old.

Bronte guesthouse is set in a central location, all the major tourist attractions are within walking distance.

The room itself are lovely and large with high ceilings and the facilities that you would need. We had the large double with a massive ensure

The owners themselves are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble
