“Beautiful cottage!”
Reviewed 4 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We have just come back from our week long stay at pear tree cottage, and we loved every minute! We travelled with a 5 year old and a baby. There was toys, games and everything you needed to have a comfortable stay. A cot, high chair and a nappy changing area was organised for us. A lovely little garden for the kids to run about in. Only a 10 minute walk to the bus stop. Absolutely recommend this place to others, and will definitely come and stay here again!!

“Even more beautiful than the photos show, with a bath to die for!”
Reviewed 4 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We stayed at Pear Tree Cottage in July as a surprise weekend away for a friend’s 40th. Nothing was too much trouble for Suzanne in the run up to our stay, and trust me, I ask a LOT of questions when organising birthdays!

The cottage itself is even more beautiful than the photos show, with a bath to die for! On arrival we loved exploring where each corridor would lead us – the place was so much bigger than we expected, giving each couple some privacy if they wanted a break from the group.

The gift of Betty’s tea, coffee and cake, plus freshly laid eggs from the resident chickens, added to the welcoming feeling we got the whole time we were in the cottage. Just remember to keep the door closed if you don’t want the cats and chickens joining you in the kitchen!

We spent our time enjoying the cottage, had a day in York (£18 each way for a minibus), visited the McArthur Glen outlet (10-15min drive away) and had a few games of Bingo! Lots more is within easy reach and all the tourist info you could need is provided in the property by the owners – along with wifi.

Had the weather been better, a BBQ on the beautiful garden would have been the icing on the (birthday) cake! We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends – children would be 100% safe playing outside.

Our only tip – trust your sat nav when it sends you down the caravan and camping signposted farm track!

We would love to return… we just need another milestone event to plan for!

“Little Gem”
Reviewed 2 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Beautiful cottage, so close to York and perfect for our family of 6. Spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The children 12,10, 6 and 3 all loved the garden, the toys and games and also the upstairs bathroom (ducks for the bath and Bluetooth mirror to play music). The treats from Betty's were such a treat. We are so glad we found this, much better than booking 2 hotel rooms!

“Yorkshire country barn”
Reviewed 17 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

This was an absolutely relaxing and tranquil stay a short drive out of the city of York. We found the owners to be very friendly and kind with excellent communication from start to finish. There is a very good bus service that will take one directly to the heart of historic York in minutes (be sure to download the app for it to make it even simpler. I highly recommend the stay for families with children or for two couples.

“Relaxing stay at Pear Tree Cottage”
Reviewed 5 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Lovely modern cottage with a well equipped kitchen and everything we needed for a stay with 2 young children, could have happily stayed here much longer. Park and ride to york was super close by, very much enjoyed a visit to the Piglets farm nearby too. Kids loved herding the chickens ;-) We will be back!

Immaculate and beautifully equipped house in a tranquil rural setting yet only 15 minutes from York and there's a bus! Lots of welcoming touches. A gift from the owners ---Yorkshire Cake, Betty'sTea and Coffee and fresh eggs from the hens next door . The children aged 2 and 5 loved feeding the hens and watching tractors going up the lane. We appreciated the cds , dvds, games and children's toys. Plenty of space for relaxing or games in the pretty garden--Picnic tables and barbecue too. Piglet Adventure Farm is a must if you have children with you and only 15 minutes away.We will return to Pear Tree Cottage!
