Description: Georgina's Cafe is one of York's newest and smartest tea and coffee houses. Modelled on the liner-society cafes of the 1920s and 30s Georgina's offers breakfasts, snacks, lunches and afternoon teas as well as great tea and coffee. Our cakes are becoming some of the most sought-after in the north and we also offer a range of beers and wines.

The food was great and excellent value for money. Service was excellent, very pleasant staff. Georgina's is certainly worth a visit. Only slight niggle was that we had to ask for hot water to top teapot up, not really an issue and we were not charged for this, just would have liked it to be provided without asking. However this did not effect our overall enjoyment.

Could this be Yorks best cafe? Me and my wife certainly think It could be.
We visit at least once a week for the fantastic home cooked food, deliciously indulgent cakes and most of all the service which always comes with a smile.
We cannot recommend this cafe highly enough!!

Georginas is something of a hidden gem, right in the centre of York it manages to avoid all crowds and offers a nice tranquil place to have some good homely food.

We visited on a busy weekend day right when the races were on in the city, naturally during this time it is usually a nightmare trying to find somewhere to get away from it all and have something nice for lunch, but on recommendation from my partner we stopped here for something to eat.

The decoration is nice and friendly and there are nice large tables and comfy seats which you sometimes don't find in these kinds of places. The food was excellent, we both had an open sandwich and a drink, served to us quickly the food was of good quality and presentation, perhaps the only small gripe was that the drinks were a little small for what you pay, a fizzy drink is probably equivelant to less then a regular 330 ml can.

All in all we will definitely visit Georginas again, I would recommend to anyone wanting something a bit quieter than the trendy chain coffee shops, and with a nicer menu to choose from to boot.

Booked for afternoon tea for friends birthday with prosecco.
Food delicious! Sandwiches on French stick was nice alternative and fillings were yum.
Scones were a bit dry but cakes were lovely as were the pots of teas we had.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Waitress could have done with a larger sized blouse as she was bursting out in a multicoloured bra through the white shirt. Not a classy look.but she was very friendly and helpful.
On down side there was only the 1 toilet and we gave up waiting and moved on in the end to another place to use their facilities and have additional drinks.

So glad we chose Georgina's. The special afternoon tea with champagne was well presented and delicious, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The prices were very reasonable and we all felt relaxed and happy. Lovely view of the street below. Thank you !!
