Called in on Sunday for a bite to eat at lunchtime, we didn't want a full meal so opted for the fish finger sandwich and chips. After waiting ages for the food to arrive it came with chips cold and the bread was so dry I thought it had been toasted. We sent the food back and when it was returned it was even worse, the chips had been refried although the assistant denied this. I left my food untouched it was that bad. Having said that, the duty manager was very understanding and she gave us a refund. The Starre Inn is a lovely pub but in future I shall eat elsewhere and stick to just having a glass of wine in the Starre. The wine is good by the way.
