Brilliant place near the Minster. Superb outdoor smoking area. The live music was great and the clientele good.

Called in just before 6.00pm; the pub was already busy but we got a table in the back section (there are further rooms upstairs). We ordered the Fish Pie which was full of well cooked Smoked Haddock, Salmon and King Prawns in a seasoned Potato Mash, and accompanied by a small helping of Green Vegetables.

Good range of Ales which you are allowed to sample.. Comfortable seating and attentive Staff.

Called in with 5 friends on a lovely sunny October day and after trying to find another pub with room in their beer garden (on a busy Saturday afternoon, race day as well) we found plenty of room in a lovely beer garden just on the outskirts of the Minster where my friend Rosemary had been before. Apparently it used to be called Plunkets until a couple of years ago.

It's a Leeds Brewery pub which sells lots of craft beers and lots of different gins.

Three of us shared 2 bottles of the house Colombard Savion Blanc at £17 a bottle plus a big jug of soda for 2 of us.

My other friends had coke, and two halves of pale ale beers and then a couple of elderflower gins.

There was a long lounging seat with bright blue painted wall behind with trellis up and then lots tables for 2,4 6 and 8 people;we sat one of these. Lots of bulb lights for when it gets dark and lots nice planters of flowers.

The inside of the pub had lots of areas, nooks and crannies. We used the toilets upstairs where a wedding was going on, and 2 rooms plus noticed sign saying another room re music upstairs to a third floor.

I would definitely use this pub again when in York.

We were so... Lucky that we could sit in the sun from 3.30 til 5.50pm on an October day we had to move on to our Italian restaurant for 6pm or would of probably had another.

Husband was delighted to find this bar selling 'Communion' beer made by Northern Monk. A very relaxed atmosphere - very friendly service from Shannon. Very comfy chairs by the Windows allowing people watching in comfort.
