I enjoyed the hotel, clean and great service. Worth a visit if looking for reasonable cost hotel on the outskirts of Northampton.

Stayed for the one night, the hotel appearance is immaculate we were greeted by a warm and friendly recepionest who dealt swiftly with our check in. Rooms were basic but very clean, a great walk in shower, a continental breakfast was included in our package, we were offered a full english breakfast for £2.50 which was exceptional. Wi-fi avaiable in rooms as well as in reception, had a very good night sleep. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. For the price we paid could not fault our stay, would certainly stay again.

This is an extremely good value hotel, which is why we've stayed there quite a few times for work while in Northampton. The location is good, but apart from the Harvester restaurant outside, you'd have to drive to get to anywhere else.
Great free Wi-fi, and free car parking, although the parking is not secure.
The staff are very friendly, and the decor of the hotel is very modern and clean.
Sadly, the bedrooms are pretty basic. The beds are REALLY uncomfortable and it really lets the hotel down. Yes, I know the hotel isn't expensive and you get what you pay for, but other good value hotels manage to provide comfortable beds.
So although this hotel is great value, and in a convenient location, I always know that I should not expect to get a good nights sleep.

I could not fault the service, every single employee of this hotel was friendly and gave the perfect service. Had the soup and sandwich for lunch which was delicious. The free wi-fi was great whilst in the reception area, lost it a bit in my room though. The room was lovely and clean, could have done with more pillows but thats just my personal preference. If I had to be really picky it would just be that the walls between the rooms are too thin. I could hear the man next door to me having a wee about 4 times during the night but had to tell myself it could have been worse. Would definitely recommend and will be using again albeit with ear plugs.

Hi guys...(again!)

Just a quick request please…If you find this review helpful, please click on the 'like or helpful button' and if you have any questions please feel free to drop me an email and I'll see how I can help :)

My review is as honest and fair as possible...I'll break it down in to several bits

1 Car Park
2 Reception area
3 Bed Rooms
4 Bathroom
5 Restaurant
6 Staff & service
7 Extras - iron, paper, wake up service

I stay quite frequently in this hotel due to work. I'm from Manchester but have to drive down and stay in Northampton once a month or so and this is the only hotel that I'd stay in. It's conveniently located 30 seconds off Junction 15 on the M1.

1 Car Park
‘Adequate’ is probably the best word....enough space for around 30-40 cars or so....nothing fancy or glamorous. No secure gates or parking wardens, you just drive in to the hotel grounds and the car parking slots are around the building. Every time I've stayed there's never been a parking issue...but....you get the impression it's just a bit small…especially if it’s a busy night and there’s a few of you staying there.

2) The hotel entrance has sliding doors activated by sensors, which, unfortunately jam and don't work sometimes...it's happened about 3 times on different occasions to me...but other than that, once you're inside you can't help but be impressed by the modern and spacious interior. Nice clean floor and nice lighting. Every time I’ve been to the hotel I’m checked in within a few minutes at the counter. The receptionists are really friendly, mainly from overseas but speak perfect English, and French / German too. Roberto is a top chap!

3) Ok....there are essentially two types of rooms that my company book for me, double bed or twin bed (which is a room with two single beds). The rooms have always been spacious, clean and crisp. I've looked at the carpets on some occasions and they are always cleaned. The bed sheets are made well, fresh pillow cases provided and a decent sized TV on the wall...always with a working remote control! One niggle however is that the sheets are very light and not usually enough to keep you warm on their own, however, there are extra sheets tucked away at the bottom of the wardrobes and, a mighty fine A/C unit is ever present to increase the room temperature in a matter of moments. Another niggle for me is the lack of a fridge :/

4) The bathroom is spacious, has a large mirror but a tiny sink....the toilets have always been clean, fresh towels are provided daily and they smell quite nice too. The small boxed soap is really cheap and nasty and you wouldn't want to use it at all! It hardly lathers and soaps! Best to use some of the free shampoo in the little bottles to wash your hands rather than the soap...trust me!

The showers are of two types, one in a bath and the other is just a 'modern' shower where you walk on the floor behind a large glass screen into an area which has a drain in the floor. Even though the shower is great in both types of room, being powerful and hot...you can't help but feel a little bit like 'eugh’ in the modern ‘walk on the floor shower’...in terms of lime-scale built up on the floor and then also having to stand just a few centimetres away from the drain which may have hair in there! The extractor fan to get rid of the steam is quite tiny and doesn't do a great job to be honest.

I'm just being niggly and 99% of the guests probably won't notice these little things. :)

5) Restaurant - Breakfast is between average and good. Perhaps 6/10. They have a variety of cereals, fruit, juices, yogurts, breads, cheeses and meats. Additionally they also have the hot breakfast which includes bacon, sausage, eggs beans and mushrooms. Annoyingly however, you can wake up on some days and get to the breakfast area and find no hot food, it's all on order with the chef...so instead of piling up your plate, eating and checking out, you may have to wait 15 mins or so if there are a few people that have ordered ahead of you...it's not all that uncommon unfortunately.

Evening meal...absolutely fab. The service is great, the ambience is perfect; the restaurant is busy enough to give you a good vibe and feel. Every time I've eaten there, either on my own or with business associates, I’ve never felt that the food had been of poor quality. The tables are of adequate size and cutlery feels good in the hand. However...the portions are tiny! Seriously tiny and it’s the one thing that I’d complain about if I ever felt I should. You'd probably want to go out for a kebab just to fill yourself up after the meal. Food is priced reasonably...not too dear but not also cheap...let's say £20 for a drink, starter and main. I actually eat out in the evenings now rather than in the restaurant as I don’t like to go to sleep feeling hungry.

6) Staff – They can't do enough for you. Smiling, polite, helpful and genuine. 10-10

7) Extras – You can ask for an iron and iron board, you get a wake up service, newspaper to your room, free wifi in your room, there is a good selection of drinks provided by the kettle in your room and they offer a laundry service too.

All in all, 8 out of 10 for me. It’s only let down by the small meal portions at evening meals and the slightly unclean bathroom floors in the ‘walk in’ shower areas. I’d still be happy to continue staying in this hotel though.

I think my review is as honest and fair as possible. If it’s helped you please click on ‘like’ or if you need any help with questions, please feel free to ask.

See ya! :)

Room Tip: Every room has been fine on each of my stays.

I needed an overnight stop while travelling up the country, and chose the Campanile as it was in the right location and the right price (£39 room). It's clean, spacious, comfortable beds and quiet. you have everything you need for an overnight stop. By the time I arrived the restaurant had closed for the evening but there is a harvesters pub across the way that does good value pub grub and some dishes in takeaway. Its not the ritz, and I wouldn't stay here for a special occasion, but for a value for money overnight stop it's fantastic.

To make things clear from the outset, this Campanile is a new one, classed as " New Generation" so it may not resemble too much the other hotels in the chain. I got a double room for £59 no breakfast. Continental can be added for £6.50, Full (hot) breakfast for £9.50. The hotel is very clean, airy and bright. It has a bar and restaurant close to reception. I didn't eat there but the food looked good value and well turned out(sneeked a look at someone's as it came out).
The room was very well appointed with shower and bath, tea/coffee etc in the room and a good selection of satellite channels. Wifi was FREE!! This makes a huge difference for me as you can get stung for anything up to £15 elsewhere.
Breakfast choice was buffet and there was a good selection all round. Staff were polite throughout and certainly helpful if asked.
I've given this a 5 star rating becaue when all said and done, at £59 with free wifi; comfy double bed you can't argue. No it doesn't have a leisure club but I wouldn't expect it to.
There is a Harvester restaurant over the road( 50 yards) and then a little walk further and you come to a Budgens supermarket along with Curry and Pizza takeaway.
Great hotel, great location. If I'm in Northampton again, I will be back.
