This place is a real find, beautifully decorated and maintained rooms. As well as a great room with tv, wifi and an ensuite shower room,(complimentary toileteries and good quality towels included), you'll get a really good freshly cooked breakfast to set you up for the day, and a very warm welcome.

The Coach and Horses is run by owners Les and Anthea and an attentive team of staff, and nothing is ever too much trouble, they really want you to enjoy your stay and have got hospitality down to a fine art.

It's a local pub and serves great food lunchtimes and evenings - lots of choice, all freshly cooked using top quality ingredients.

I stayed here on several occassions this summer while working in the area and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

A group of 4 old mates, we go fly fishing annually for a long weekend. We first went to the Coach & Horses 2 years ago as the first guests in their newly converted stable courtyard. The rooms are top quality, neutrally decorated with many of the old features (beams) on display. They have not changed in two years, they are spotlessly clean and very obviously maintained to the highest standards.

Les, Anthea (the proprietors) and their staff are extremely attentive and just cannot do enough to make your stay welcoming, without being in your face. A quick tip – fast for a couple of days before going to stay here, because the food is voluminous as well as extremely tasty. Big steaks, hearty breakfasts, puddings to kill you.

I have already re-booked to go walking with some other mates, and we are getting in quick with bookings for next years fishing. This place is a real gem.

We stayed at the Coach & Horses for one night on Saturday 3rd April 2010 before spending the Sunday at Santa Pod race track.
On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by everyone in the pub. The landord showed us to our accomodation which was very warm and welcoming as it was a chilly evening. The room was really clean and comfortable with en-suite shower room.
We had a table booked in the pub restaurant which was ours for the evening so no rush for us to get down to eat. The staff were great, very helpful and genuine....
Food was excellent, gorgeous steak & kidney pie.....
Breakfast was laid out the next morning in the restaurant and the full English cooked by the landlady was top notch.
So, although we only stayed one night we would definitely stop again and would recommend to anyone looking for a good, value for money place to stay.

Really enjoyed my nights stay at this thatched pub. The room was beautifuly furnished to an excellent standard. High roof with beams. Lovely comfortable and warm beds. Dinner in the pub was just what we needed after a hard days riding on our bikes. Convivial hosts, pleasant service from the staff. First rate and that breakfast before the next days riding marvellous.......... will come again

I now fully understand why this B&B was awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain. I have stayed in more expensive B&Bs around the country which were truly poor by comparison. The C&H B&B accommodation is fairly new and so everything is not only spotless, but also of a really high quality and really different - not just the standard old stuff found elsewhere. The bathrooms are wonderful, with power showerd which actually deliver!

Breakfast is wonderful... and the evening meals are also of similar standard,

This really is a great place to stay and to eat and drink.

Note: I noticed there is a review of this pub as a restaurant at http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g186349-d1233615-Reviews-Coach_and_Horses-Northampton_Northamptonshire_England.html - this is well worth reading too.
