The hotel is horrid. It's dirty and apart from the faded grandeur of the original manor house, is both ugly and an absolute architectural disgrace.
The bathroom stank of sewage and the fittings were dirty and mouldy. The cups in the bedroom were also dirty. Family from hell appeared to be living rather than staying next door were an absolute noise nightmare. Horrible food....microwaved....and once more..dirty cups! Do yourself a favour....stay somewhere else!

Room Tip: Go to premier inn down the road!

I was unfortunate enough to stay here for one night. The only recommendation I would give is...I recommend you don't book this hotel.

The room was horrible, the bathroom worse. The food....I didn't eat the evening meal, as I am not partial to food that is not fresh, sauce from a jar and tinned potatoes! unbelievable!! So bad I didn't risk the breakfast. I asked the waitress for a glass of the red house wine and enquired what it was, she replied, "not sure but it is in a purple bottle". I have read some of the positive reviews and can only assume that these people stayed in the main hotel accommodation, whilst I was in some side annex. I didn't expect luxury for the corporate rate my company paid but I did expect basic hygiene, which was most definitely lacking.

It's a bit tired and is certainly a prime example of what the local planning departments did to this country in the 60's and 70's. The original building must have been pretty special but is now difficult to spot hidden behind the various add-on's.

The hotel interior is a bit tired and the room we had was in the 'new' wing which was very dated. Having said that it was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. We found all the staff throughout our stay very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Overall this hotel is ok and is good value for money. If you can look past the decor it's not a bad place to stay.

Room Tip: The rooms may be better in the old part of the hotel

When we drove into the car park I was concerned about what would greet us in the hotel.
When entering reception we was greeted by very pleasant reception staff and a traditional interior.
We had two rooms in the building outside the main hotel. One double room which was very small but clean. A twin room which was larger in size and also clean.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was ok but nothing special, I think this was maybe instant meals that are cooked in a microwave. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful and the service they provided was excellent, the decor was very charming please ant and comfortable. Our nights sleep was fine, probably not the most comfortable pillows but everyone has a personal taste. Considering how much we paid it was value for money.

That's 4 times the fire alarm has gone off so far tonight. 3 times last night. And it's painfully loud. And reception are not answering the phone - not sure I blame them.
The flimsy connecting door between my deluxe room and the next allows me to hear everything, and I mean everything, going on next door, and the even flimsier bolt on said door almost gave way under the assault of my neighbors who, in their drunken state, wanted to join me. If I'd been a lone female I'd have been dialling 999 but then maybe they'd be sending someone anyway.
The unheated bathroom is chilly, (probably the cause of those fire alarms when guests leave the door open whilst showering) so bring some slippers for the tiled floor.
Don't believe the fancy photos - two thirds of this hotel is 1970s brutalist blockhouse, which is in serious need of maintenance. It's surrounded by a 1950s housing estate, presumably built in the original grounds. The garden is quite pleasant once you fight your way through the fug of cigarette smoke where the maintenance staff congregate.
The staff are friendly and the bar meal was good, though the nice bar area was cold.
And bring a GPS in case you get lost in the corridors.

After staying here for some time (the first few nights were bad so gave it a chance) I have come to the conclusion this is possibly the worst place to stay in the whole of Northampton.
The bar / lounge is cold and lifeless. There is a fire place but the fire wood is stored outside in the wet weather, and after a long days work in the cold and wet all you want is to get warm. The food is terrible. £6.50 for a cheap pizza (probably warmed in a microwave as there is no signs it has ever seen an oven) The beer, if you can ever get served, is usually poor quality i.e. flat John Smiths and they have the cheek to charge nearly £4 a pint. I have stood at the Bar for 25 minutes in the past while 1 member of staff serves 3-4 people. There are certain members of staff who feel it appropriate to berate younger members of staff in front of guests. The rooms are severly dated, usually grubby and quite often they can not get the heating right. Either far too hot or far too cold. I can only find 1 plus side. The reception staff are alwasy cheerful and helpful. I have stayed in about 6 different rooms and in each room the shower has been terrible. The shower heads need replacing as they spray everywhere but where they are supposed to. The car park seems to have become a dumping ground for rubbish. There has been a dog in the 'Annexx' barking till all hours.

Room Tip: Nothing will help you here.
