Description: The Hopping Hare is a restaurant, pub & hotel. FoodThe quality of our food is really important to us.That's why everything is prepared from the finest ingredients, the freshest produce and the very best meat and fish. Our head chef has hand picked suppliers who support our food ethos and knows where the meat is reared, how the fish is caught and where the vegetables have been grown. We source locally as much as possible. Our Menus are updated regularly offering slowly braised, heart-warming comfort food when it's chilly outside, and lighter, pan-fried dishes with tender fresh vegetable and salads during the summer months. We offer chef specials every day, while Sunday's menu offers you a choice of Great British roasts with all the trimmings. It's always advisable to book to ensure a place in our relaxed conservatory restaurant.Table service is also available in the contemporary dining room with its more casual atmosphere.DrinkWhen the temperatures dip outside, we get the log fires burning to create a warm welcome, while in summer the sun streams through the open doors to reveal a large decked area that's perfect for outdoor days and balmy evenings. The contemporary dining room area is cleverly zoned by interior design to accommodate groups of all sizes. There are perfect spots for business people, backed up by free WiFi throughout the building. You will also find quiet, intimate corners for couples, fireside sofas and seating clusters for small groups as well as semi-formal table arrangements. We provide newspapers every day.Our bar staff know a thing or two about serving the perfect drink for all occasions. A range of super chilled lagers sit happily alongside cask ales - all kept in tip-top condition by our cellar manager. A well balanced wine list includes something for all tastes and is available by the glass or the bottle, and there's an extremely well stocked spirits range. Soft drinks & freshly brewed teas or coffee are available at all times. For very special occasions we stock a range of champagnes.

Attending a business meeting in The area I was early and pulled over to search TripAdvisor for a local restaurant for lunch. The Hopping Hare was 300 yards away and was a great find. Lovely food and great service.

We met some friends we hadn't seen for many years at the Hopping Hare. The food was excellent, well presented and I think I had the best Crème Brulee ever. The staff were very attentive and served us well.

This restuarant pub is set off from a main road and whilst it describes itself as a villlage pub it isnt. Dont let that put you off though as the pub is lovely and the restuarant is excellent. The menu choices are good and the food is excellent with most produce sought locally.

Dear V4,

Many thanks for your kind review. I certainly agree we are not a village pub and I am not sure where you found the reference, but if I can find it we will certainly change it. I do prefer our brochure description :

The Hopping Hare is a luxury boutique-style hotel and gastro pub two miles from Northampton town centre and railway station, near to sporting and leisure venues and yet equally close to the countryside and many places of interest.

I am really pleased that you enjoyed our offer, which is to serve excellent quality food (2 AA Rosettes) at great value prices, alongside excellent customer service.

We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind Regards, David.

I’ve been here several times for a Sunday roast and it’s not let me down. You’ll pay more than you would for your average Sunday pub roast, but it’s all fresh, well cooked and generous portions. Highly recommend!

Very surprised to see some bad reviews, completely opposite to our experience!

Little one at in-laws so treated ourselves to a nice dinner out, seated in bar area but was lovely and some restaurants don't have as nice a setting...

The food was simply amazing - I had 3 little pigs which was pork 3-ways and tasted divine; wife had duck with peach and looked equally as delicious.
We both haven't had such good food in a very long while and I have to say this is on a par with tasting menu's in the finest restaurants and I would say very reasonable priced too.

Will definitely be back...just as soon as we can get a baby-sitter!

Dear Christopher,

Many thanks for your kind review and for awarding the team top marks, very much appreciated by us all.

We were indeed very disappointed with 2 very poor (and we believe unfair) reviews from the same small group.

The team give 100% commitment to maintaining the highest standards. We have 2 AA Rosettes and every dish is cooked in-house to order and we have a strong team of experienced and skilled chefs and we source from the highest quality suppliers.

Hopefully baby-sitters are in good supply and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards, David.
