Description: The Hopping Hare is a restaurant, pub & hotel. FoodThe quality of our food is really important to us.That's why everything is prepared from the finest ingredients, the freshest produce and the very best meat and fish. Our head chef has hand picked suppliers who support our food ethos and knows where the meat is reared, how the fish is caught and where the vegetables have been grown. We source locally as much as possible. Our Menus are updated regularly offering slowly braised, heart-warming comfort food when it's chilly outside, and lighter, pan-fried dishes with tender fresh vegetable and salads during the summer months. We offer chef specials every day, while Sunday's menu offers you a choice of Great British roasts with all the trimmings. It's always advisable to book to ensure a place in our relaxed conservatory restaurant.Table service is also available in the contemporary dining room with its more casual atmosphere.DrinkWhen the temperatures dip outside, we get the log fires burning to create a warm welcome, while in summer the sun streams through the open doors to reveal a large decked area that's perfect for outdoor days and balmy evenings. The contemporary dining room area is cleverly zoned by interior design to accommodate groups of all sizes. There are perfect spots for business people, backed up by free WiFi throughout the building. You will also find quiet, intimate corners for couples, fireside sofas and seating clusters for small groups as well as semi-formal table arrangements. We provide newspapers every day.Our bar staff know a thing or two about serving the perfect drink for all occasions. A range of super chilled lagers sit happily alongside cask ales - all kept in tip-top condition by our cellar manager. A well balanced wine list includes something for all tastes and is available by the glass or the bottle, and there's an extremely well stocked spirits range. Soft drinks & freshly brewed teas or coffee are available at all times. For very special occasions we stock a range of champagnes.

Four of us for a birthday evening meal. The food was absolutely delicious and the prosecco rose and then the malbec were top notch. Service friendly. A great find and we will be back.

Stayed here last night and i have to say what a wonderful place it is. Easy to find with ample parking. Beautifully decorated and has a real welcoming homely feel.

We were welcomed by very helpful and wonderful staff, unfortunately i didnt catch the ladies name who looked after us all evening and in the morning. She was wonderful, so accommodating, helpful and really went the extra mile to make sure we were looked after.

We had a few drinks and a beautiful dinner, very well presented and cooked to perfection, the breads for a starter were so so tasty and just incredible.

The room was spacious, very clean and a very pleasant atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows so i was very pleased.

The whole experience was fantastic, we shall definitely stay again and the breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Very impressed and wanted to thank all the staff that looked after us.

Effortlessly the most exquisite dining experience in Northampton and beyond!

I’ve eaten at the Hare many times before and as always the food is superb. Eating any of the dishes on the menu is like letting the chef take you on a culinary adventure. The mix of flavours and textures, and the way they come together on the plate is an like orchestra. Here are some of the pics of a recent visit. I’ve tried another fine dining experience in Northampton and the two are incomparable with the Hare scoring better in terms of quality of food and value for money, and while the food at the Hare isn’t cheap you really do get what you pay for. Aside from the food, the waiting staff are also excellent and friendly.

The Hopping Hare is in a rather strange position on the outskirts of Northampton surrounded by houses and probably used to be a village location. But don't let that put you off. There is plenty of parking space, and when we arrived there was a friendly greeting and we were shown immediately to a table. At first there were not many other guests, but by the end of the evening the places was busy with a pleasant hum of conversation and laughter. The menu was decent although we weren't inspired by the choice of starters as we were looking for something simple. The main courses on the other hand were mostly good standard fare and three of us chose the Fish and Chips and one the Cottage Pie. The F & C was well cooked, crispy not soggy and the chips were the same so no complaints. The Cottage Pie was also tasty and well presented. We then moved on to desserts and the selection was much more to our liking than the starters and we weren't disappointed. I had the Dark Chocolate Mousse and the rest of the party enjoyed the Raspberry Parfait all of which were very good. The service throughout the meal was friendly and pleasant and the staff did everything they could to help us enjoy the evening. In short, strange location, good service, and value for money and we would happily go again for a simple uncomplicated meal.
