Without doubt the most disappointing meal I have had this year. Restaurant very cold had to keep coat on all the time. The service was ok but the meal was truly dreadful. The smoked haddock fish cake starter priced at £5.95 arrived and looked very strange indeed. It's a favourite of mine and when done well is absolutely delicious. This version however turned out to be a fish and chip shop 'orange' fish cake with tomato ketchup and pieces of raw diced onion strewn on top with a pile of gritty limp salad leaves. the fish cake was truly vile and totally inedible. I called over the manager and he seemed embarrassed that they had been 'found out' and offered a replacement he later said there had been a mistake from the suppliers and the chef had not noticed!! The dish was returned uneaten and on to the main course Cajun chicken. This was a little better but really not good for the £9.95 price tag. Over cooked, rubbery and greasy served with what I thought were frozen microwaved vegetables. The wine was very nice though and reasonably priced the only good point of the night along with the service which was prompt. A strange choice of western style music aswell. Needless to say even with the 50 percent voucher I was given for my next visit. I won't be going back.
