“Long wait for average food”
Reviewed 27 April 2013 via mobile

The food here is standard fare, but good value at mainly 2 for £10. We had to wait almost an hour for our food, and when it came my eggs ( part of all day breakfast) were not properly cooked. There were some young children running around, and leaving door to garden open (it was a chilly evening),although this is not the fault of the establishment, it did not really add much to the atmosphere. Basic pub grub, but nothing special.

“Its just pub grub, but its good”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

Nice atmosphere, friendly bar staff, good priced food.
It is just your usual re-heated pub grub, but there is a good choice & its very resonably priced. Perfect for a few mates getting together.

“has been better”
Reviewed 13 January 2013

As I have mates and relatives close by I used to use the Spinney Hill as a casual meet up place for drinks and meals. Unfortunately after the change of ownership a few years back it has lost its old knock about friendly atmosphere by trying, unsuccessfully, to be come a trendy bistro pub. Worth giving it a try and see what you think.

“Pleasant enough pub for a cheap meal”
Reviewed 29 November 2012

We were staying nearby so called in for a bite to eat. The menu offered traditional pub food with a good pricing structure and a number of 2 for £10 deals. I had a very good pint of Adnams Broadside. Staff were very friendly, service was good. The carpet was a hideous orange and there was a slightly overpowering smell of air freshener/disinfectant (a bit Neutradol like)
The food when it arrived (quickly) was very nicely presented, well cooked, piping hot and extremely tasty.

“Strange rules for menus!”
Reviewed 2 September 2012

We visited here yesterday for lunch and as a lovely sunny day wanted to sit in the garden. As ordering drinks we were told that there was separate menu for garden and could not order from main menu when we asked why they said cause plates are too big!!! As looking at the "garden menu" all was on menu was fish, scampi, burgers jackets or baguettes which I didn't fancy plus don't eat fish, I really fancied a steak or gammon and my 10 year old son wanted the all day breakfast. So I asked the landlady if possible to have outside even if it meant me coming and collecting my own meals from the bar which she replayed " our kitchen is small and don't have the facilities to cater for lots of big meals outside and if did for one would have to do it for everyone else!" There was only us and another table of four outside! There was a few inside but not that many.Needless to say we finished our drinks and went to The overstone manor at sywell where we sat outside and had lovely meals from the main menu!
